I guess we don't get red down under, though the idea of a Red Moon
surely is the result of high altitude dust, and not being a few
minutes as a tinge, or is that a blush?

What?

tue04
R.Doisneau
and who the hell is wally?

He is the voice of reason in the land down under. He's the wisard of
'OZ'. They don't have a 'z' in the alphabet there so they use an 's'
instead. ;)

Why didn't I get assigned a character
and the power of the red herring, too?

But I thought you were in character. Robert Doisneau died some years
ago. Unless you are the son of Doisneau. Are you Robert Jr.?
Anyway, there is no power in the red herring.
Here are 3 southern flags worth 500 points each.

And yes, the lunar eclipse is tonight.

Whenever there is a total Lunar Eclipse, twice a year, the appearance
is red, because of diffraction when the suns light goes through the
Earths atmosphere to be reflected by the Moon.
Nothing at all to get twitterpated about.
Whilst on the subject, 2004 will see:
A transit of Venus. (Venus will pass across the face of the Sun)
TWO naked eye comets in the sky at one time (but since comets are not
harbingers of doom, nothing to worry about there, and NEITHER one will
hit a planet)
A gathering of several planets in the sky at one time
An occultation of Regulus by Mercury
A formation in the sky where Venus will be very bright and cl;ose to
the crescent Moon (those who wish to see something islamic in that,
take heart, it's quite common)
OK, two comets visible to the naked eye ion the sky at one time is
uncommon, but everything I've mentioned is the result of well known
celestial mechanics, and most people have grown up from the dark ages
when they used to get twitterpated, and thought that the sky was
falling, or some demon was eating the stars so you had to sacrifice
something.
Most People.

Well influenza was from comets who had influence.

YEAH!! and in 1874, there was a huge swarm of Grasshoppers in Utah,
and then there were several other years, and then there was one in
2000 in Utah, and one in NSW, Australia as well!!
IN 2002 a locust plague of "biblical proportions" hit Kabul in
Afghanistan!!!
In June 2002, one hit China.
In 1994, following a warm winter, and wet spring, a plague of
Mosquitoes hit POLAND!
In June/July 2003 in Andrha Pradesh (India), 110 children were killed
during a mosquito plague.
In August 2002, following floods in Europe, There was as plague of
Mosquitoes
Each one of those years had TWO lunar eclipses.
"Signs and portents" can be seen anytime you want to look for them. It
doesn't mean the sky is falling.
Nothing to panic over.

Be brave Robert!
DON'T FEAR THE REEFER!! ;)
All our times have come
Here but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the reefer
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain..we can be like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reefer
Baby take my hand...don't fear the reefer
We'll be able to fly...don't fear the reefer
Baby I'm your man...
Valentine is done
Here but now they're gone
Romeo and Juliet
Are together in eternity...Romeo and Juliet
40,000 men and women everyday...Like Romeo and Juliet
40,000 men and women everyday...Redefine happiness
Another 40,000 coming everyday...We can be like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reefer
Baby take my hand...don't fear the reefer
We'll be able to fly...don't fear the reefer
Baby I'm your man...
Love of two is one
Here but now they're gone
Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear she couldn't go on
Then the door was open and the wind appeared
The candles blew then disappeared
The curtains flew then he appeared...saying don't be afraid
Come on baby...and she had no fear
And she ran to him...then they started to fly
They looked backward and said goodby...she had become like they are
She had taken his hand...she had become like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reefer

O for jesus sake!! There are TWO Lunar Eclipses EVERY FREAKING YEAR,
and each time, because of the effects of the earths atmosphere, the
moon goes red.
Gettit? It happens TWICE A YEAR, and it's a well established, common
thing, brought about by celestial mechanics that has been known about

Why? Is there something wrong with bringing a little bit of reason and
critical thinking into an otherwise "the sky is falling" discussion?
Someone my read it and think it's all serious instead of role playing.
BTW, you were right, it's an Illudium Pu-36 explosive space modulator.
However, the Illudium Fozdex (the shaving cream atom) is only found
on one planet, and that's a territorial dispute. :-))

It IZ-REAL! IT IZ!! The moon is turning blood red Saturday! That's
going to go off without a hitch unless the world comes to an end or
something first.
And that's basically all that was said.
Well, sort of. ;)

BTW, you were right, it's an Illudium
Pu-36 explosive space modulator.

For the proper pronunciation, you must pinch off your nose while
talking.

However, the Illudium Fozdex (the
shaving cream atom) is only found on
one planet, and that's a territorial
dispute. :-))

Fozdex? Isn't that a liquid antiseptic soap? In a green bottle?

O for jesus sake!! There are TWO Lunar Eclipses EVERY FREAKING YEAR,
and each time, because of the effects of the earths atmosphere, the
moon goes red.

Gettit? It happens TWICE A YEAR, and it's a well established, common
thing, brought about by celestial mechanics that has been known about
for centuries.

Of course, if you are really worried about it, I guess you *could*
sacrifice a virgin or something so that the big bad shadow will go
away.

This explains everything!!! All the bloodshed for all these
generations!! It's all because of this damned blood-red moon twice
every year! It drives us all crazy and portends bad things. The U.S.
should endeavor to destroy the moon for world peace.
Thanks for pointing this out Wally!

Actually, we should destroy Mars, since many astrologers beleive it
signifies war. The only thing is, we've lost the k-39 explosive space
modulator.

Thanks for pointing this out Wally!

You are welcome.

Dammit, its the Q-36 explosive space modulator. The k-39 was
superceded.

What are you going to do about the cannibalistic Milky Way? its gobbling
up Sagittarius! I'm DOOMED! Then comes Capricorn, and so on.....and so
forth, etc. Sooner or later you're all going to get it!
CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP!

The only thing is, we've lost the
k-39 explosive space modulator.

I believe that was an "Illudium Pu-36 Explosive Space Modulator" that
was lost.
How about Ed Cregger's "Kel-Tec P-32" ?

Dammit, its the Q-36 explosive space
modulator. The k-39 was superceded.
