Lesbian teacher 'married' girl in pagan ritual
Faces criminal charges for sexually assaulting former student

A female teacher who allegedly "married" a 14-year-old girl in a pagan ritual
faces criminal-sexual conduct charges in Michigan.
Elizabeth Miklosovic, 36, of Grand Rapids faces a possible life sentence for
her conduct with a former student at Baseline Middle School in South Haven,
Mich., the Muskegon Chronicle reported.
"They also participated in witchcraft together," Detective Sgt. Dianne
Oppenheim told the Michigan paper.
The Kent County Prosecutor's office issued warrants Thursday on first- and
second-degree criminal sexual conduct charges, alleging Miklosovic, a
seventh-grade language-arts teacher, was involved in illegal sex acts with the
student at the teacher's Grand Rapids home.
The girl's family initially believed Miklosovic was trying to help the girl,
described as emotionally troubled, the Chronicle said.
But the girl's uncle, outraged, says the teacher "brainwashed" her into
thinking their actions were OK.
"It's heartbreaking to know [you put] your trust, your faith in a teacher, and
this is how it goes," the uncle said. "[The girl] doesn't think a crime's been
committed. She's plainly been brainwashed by her teacher."
The girl told police of five sexual encounters from June to October, the
Muskegon paper said.
Miklosovic has a "nontraditional family," a neighbor told the paper, living
with another woman and their adopted son.
Local residents expressed their anger to the Chronicle.
"If you can't trust your kid's teacher, who can you trust?" asked Monica
Thompson, 24. "It appalled me. I heard about it on the news last night. A kid
and a grown woman?"
A recent graduate of local South Haven High School, Mallory Spencer, told the
Chronicle, "It's getting kind of scary now. I have a lot of friends who teach
there. ... I'm kind of numb. You hear about so much these days, nothing
surprises me."
The Chronicle said Miklosovic, who has worked for the district three years, was
highly regarded by staff and students and had no previous criminal record in
Michigan.

Sick is right! Here in Ontario, a male teacher who had accessed child

had his licence suspended, but is now getting it back. As a parent, I would
be beyond furious to find someone like him (or the twit in your article) was

The Sun is one of our more Conservative papers and Michael Coren is one of
my favourite columnists/ talk show hosts (he's actually a transplanted

poetry...but makes a good point about our schools these days.

I wish I had a license to get back. I know, it's not much, but
it's about the extent of my feelings on this. Of course, pedofiles,
or teachers stupid enough to get sexual with students should be
kept away from schools altogether.
Do you people get 'Love Line' up there in Canada? You know,
Dr Drew (Pinsky) and Adam Corolla ? They provide a lot of
insight on all aspects of sexuality and sexual disorders,
including what happens to kids who get sexually abused by
adults.

Yeah, it's a syndicated radio program, usually runs from
10pm - 12am mon thru fri, usually on a local rock station
(it's mainly targeting young people, but provides good info
for people of any age). Pretty good information on relationships,
drug addiction, sexual stuff, etc.

Could be on some
station I never listened to. (I wasn't meaning to sound like I don't
take the abuse of boys by adult women seriously! If someone did that to

Like I said, I don't have any immediate interest in this issue
(I don't have any kids), but I can understand peoples feelings
on it. As a guy I can see the appeal of being involved with an
adult woman when you're a teenager. They say the sexual peak for
guys is like 17 years old, and at that age their hormones are
completely dominating them (I can personally attest to the truth
of this). For women, the sexual peak is around 26.
On the aforementioned radio show, many young women call in
complaining they never have orgasm. Adam and Dr Drew are
familiar with this, and they say most women don't until
they're in their 20's. For guys it's completely different.
Guys can't help but orgasm on a regular basis, and if they
don't do it themselves then nature does it for them through
wet dreams. It's a really interesting radio show.

There has always been a double standard in this culture concerning sexual
activity and young kids. Dads inwardly proud of their sons when they see
that they're "studly" or put together "right". The same dads appalled when
their little princesses become sexually active, "get in trouble", turn out
to be "sluts".
When I was in junior high there was a math teacher that was reputed to have
had "affairs" with a number of 13-15 year old girls. A quiet sort of
scandal that went on for a few years. Whispers all over the place. It's
rumored that he ended up going a bit too far with the daughter of a
prominent citizen. He eventually sort of fled to Florida where someone with
a .45 assassinated him in his 'Vette at a 4 way stop a few years after he
left Michigan. I guess that's the frontier way of handling things.
You'll see more of the Latourneau and South Haven (just up the road from me)
situations as societies continue to become more lax. It's openly showing up
in the heartland. Why would anyone really be surprised by any of this?
Adults have their freedom, free will, so let the adult world go as it
chooses. But children have to be protected from predatory adults. At some
point society will have to step up and in effect legislate some strict
morality. Make the punishment for offenses of this nature made by adults of
both sexes so inordinately painful that it'll make people impose their own
restrictions on their behavior.

When my daughter was in junion high, there was a history teacher that was having
affairs with some of the girls. In this case, the school guidance counselor and
principal were aware of it, and didn't do anything until the police became
involved. What they did was tell the teacher that the police were
investigating, so he could skip to Florida. (They did eventually get him).
The school was sued, and the school turned around and tried to blame the
incident on the kids. It was *their* fault that, at the age of 13/14,
their teacher seduced them. Lovely, no? Because there was no law on the books
that required the principal and guidance counselor to report the crimes, they
could not be prosecuted and were permitted to "resign" without incident - and
they were protected from being personally sued (somehow). It did result in New
York State getting a law on the books that school personnel are required to
report any sexual abuse by other school personnel.

You know you see things like this and you wonder if some people just have no
soul. Something has to be missing on the inside, some structural defect, if
they're able to use a child as a toy. The teacher I referred to above would
open a little window to a crazed beast inside if he was stressed in certain
ways. It's always amazed me how people are capable of maintaining that
veneer of sanity most of the time over some inner mayhem.

The school was sued, and the school turned around and tried to blame the
incident on the kids. It was *their* fault that, at the age of 13/14,

Spin. Responsibility and morality go out the window when money or prestige
are on the line. Makes the system just as sick as the predator.

Because there was no law on the books
that required the principal and guidance counselor to report the crimes,

they

could not be prosecuted and were permitted to "resign" without incident -

and

they were protected from being personally sued (somehow).

At least they paid a price. I've often wondered how the guy I knew got away
with it for so long. What parent, what administrator let things slide and
allowed him to carry on. Hopefully today there's enough awareness to fight
this sort of thing out in the open.

It did result in New
York State getting a law on the books that school personnel are required

to

report any sexual abuse by other school personnel.

Establish guilt within the entire establishment instead of allowing the
establishment to cover up. Good way to get people out of the denial
business. Something short of the death penalty which really doesn't seem to
work anyway.
Given the nature of the way our guy was dealt with, murdered in Florida, you
wonder where the real game is played, where the power lies, or "lied". The
open or public channels bypassed and the real power exercised in secret.
Gee, I wonder if that reference isn't obscure enough.

Lesbian teacher 'married' girl in pagan ritual
Faces criminal charges for sexually assaulting former student

AP
A female teacher who allegedly "married" a 14-year-old girl in a pagan

ritual

faces criminal-sexual conduct charges in Michigan.

Elizabeth Miklosovic, 36, of Grand Rapids faces a possible life

sentence

for

her conduct with a former student at Baseline Middle School in South

Haven,

Mich., the Muskegon Chronicle reported.

"They also participated in witchcraft together," Detective Sgt. Dianne
Oppenheim told the Michigan paper.

The Kent County Prosecutor's office issued warrants Thursday on first-

and

second-degree criminal sexual conduct charges, alleging Miklosovic, a
seventh-grade language-arts teacher, was involved in illegal sex acts

with

the

student at the teacher's Grand Rapids home.

The girl's family initially believed Miklosovic was trying to help the

girl,

described as emotionally troubled, the Chronicle said.

But the girl's uncle, outraged, says the teacher "brainwashed" her into
thinking their actions were OK.

"It's heartbreaking to know [you put] your trust, your faith in a

teacher,

and

this is how it goes," the uncle said. "[The girl] doesn't think a

crime's

been

committed. She's plainly been brainwashed by her teacher."

The girl told police of five sexual encounters from June to October,

the

Muskegon paper said.

Miklosovic has a "nontraditional family," a neighbor told the paper,

living

with another woman and their adopted son.

Local residents expressed their anger to the Chronicle.

"If you can't trust your kid's teacher, who can you trust?" asked

Monica

Thompson, 24. "It appalled me. I heard about it on the news last night.

A

kid

and a grown woman?"

A recent graduate of local South Haven High School, Mallory Spencer,

told

the

Chronicle, "It's getting kind of scary now. I have a lot of friends who

teach

there. ... I'm kind of numb. You hear about so much these days, nothing
surprises me."

The Chronicle said Miklosovic, who has worked for the district three

years, was

highly regarded by staff and students and had no previous criminal

record

in

Michigan.

Sick is right! Here in Ontario, a male teacher who had accessed child
pornography on the internet (including on his school's own computer

network)

had his licence suspended, but is now getting it back. As a parent, I

would

be beyond furious to find someone like him (or the twit in your article)

was

teaching my kid!

No doubt that such people should not be permitted to interact with

children.

I'd be very concerned about such a teacher getting his or her
certification/license back.

There is also a famous Ontario case where a teacher wrote love notes to a
13-year-old boy and eventually got HER licence back:

Most of the men who I've discussed such cases with (like the Mary Kay
Letourneau case) comment that they wish they had been so lucky! Seems we
don't take the abuse of young boys by women very seriously at all! Or
maybe, if men are saying such things, it isn't as serious(?) I hope some
men will comment on this!

It doesn't matter what the kids think - they're just kids!! It's the
responsibility of the adults around them to make sure that the children
entrusted to their care are protected from predators - and that's exactly what I
would consider a pedophile who gets a job where they are entrusted with the
welfard of kids.

For sure. I'm just surprised at the men who say they wish it had happened
to them. That's why I was curious to hear from the men in this group.

Title: Must be something in the air.... 06 Dec 2004 08:47:40 PM
I don't think this has anything to do with......"Liberals".
http://www.abcactionnews.com/stories/2004/11/041130lafave.shtml
TAMPA - When a young Hillsborough County teacher was accused this summer
of having a sexual affair with a 14-year-old student, many people's
first reaction to the notorious case was, 'She's crazy.' Tuesday, Debra
Lafave's attorney announced that his client would indeed be using an
insanity defense.
Lafave, 24, is facing charges of lewd and lascivious behavior, stemming
from accusations that the former Greco Middle School teacher had sex
with the student both at school and in a car driven by the student's
cousin in Ocala.
The case has garnered international attention, but since turning herself
in to police in June, Lafave has kept a low profile. She was ordered to
appear at Tuesday's pre-trial hearing, but did not say anything.
In her place, attorney John Fitzgibbons asked the court for a delay
because of a shift in his defense tactics.
"To give the court a sense of the case, I anticipate that in the near
future, I will be filing a notice of insanity defense. There is some
work being done by a doctor=85we have accumulated medical records," he
told the judge.
Lafave's trial was originally scheduled for December 6. Prosecutors had
been forewarned of the new defense tactic, but still said it should push
the trial back "a couple months," into next spring.
According to prosecutor Mike Sinacore, the burden is on the defense to
prove insanity by meeting two standards.
"The person suffered from mental illness at the time of the offense, and
the second prong is to prove that either they did not know what they
were doing, or that they did know what they were doing but did not know
that it was wrong," he explained.
Given that, it was not clear from either Fitzgibbons' comments or court
documents what the reasoning behind the new defense was.
John Fitzgibbons discusses the case as Lafave and her family look on.
"Debbie has some profound emotional issues that are not her fault. I
think once anyone reads what the doctors have to say, they will
understand a lot more about what happened here," Fitzgibbons said
outside court, as Lafave stood silently next to him.
That reasoning may become more clear as the prosecution releases
evidence in the case later this week. That is expected to include phone
conversations between Lafave and the teen, and store surveillance photos
showing them shopping together.
One factor the defense might use to invoke an insanity defense is the
recent trauma Lafave's family has been through.
Her pregnant sister was killed in a high-profile drunk driving accident
three years ago, and Lafave was in court for that trial alongside the
rest of her family, who also turned out for Tuesday's hearing.
Her soon-to-be former husband, Owen Lafave, was not there, however. Owen
filed for divorce in August and told Action News previously that the
case has been like "living a nightmare" for him.
Debbie Lafave also faces similar charges in Marion County.

Jeepers! That sure is a HOT red dress (pictured below)....I dunno if it
would be my 1st choice for turning myself in to the authorities tho! ;)
