The current World Conference on AIDS, held in Toronto, has
reminded me of one, only one, decyphered quatrain speaking of the
illness known as AIDS.
*
In it, Nostradamus never speaks of auto-immune diseases, of
retro-viruses (HIV, HTLV1, HTLV2, etc.), of the French acronym
for AIDS (S.I.D.A.). His decription is more to the point: it
describes what happens to those infected by it. Quatrain I-22 was
the one hiding this text:
*
-------------- C E N T V R I E___P R E M I E R E. ------------
----------------------- (édition de 1555) --------------------
*
---- 22 - Ce que viura & n'aiant aucun sens, -----------------
--------- Viendra leser à mort son artifice: -----------------
--------- Autun, Chalon,Langres & les deux Sens, -------------
--------- La gresle& glace fera grand malefice. --------------
*
This meaningful gobbledygook leaves an impression of death, of an
evil involving hail and ice. But its decyphered text was quite
shocking for the one who discovered it:
*
--------- Vn virus cause cinquante Années --------------------
--------- de Mort vuidant les corps de la Vie ----------------
--------- et, en l'An Trente-Deux, le Grand U S chasse -------
--------- le grand mal par la gelée très efficace. -----------
*
Needless to say, I was floored: Not only did Nostradamus describe
*FIFTY YEARS* of AIDS, but gave the year (2032) in which 'the
Great US' would get rid of this Great Evil, using a very
effective gel.
*
To Nostradamus-the-Physician, finding a cure for such a deadly
virus which empties the body of its life is a most remarkable
feat. So, he salutes the Great US for this accomplishment.
*
When I decyphered line 4, I was not too sure what to think of
this "...gelée très efficace." Was it a vaccine in the form of a
gel, or was it the act of freezing the virus in order to kill it?
Although I had never heard of such a method (usually heat kills
viruses), I left it open for interpretation by those in a better
position to comment authoritatively.
*
Oh, you want to know what the decyphered text says? In modern
English, then, with the usual asterisks between words no longer
used or spelled thus: '*A* virus causes fifty Years of Death,
*emptying* bodies of life and, in Year Thirty-Two, the Great US
chases away the great evil by the very efficient gel.'
*
Clever, eh, this Nostradamus?!
