Never mind the flames look for negligence though really this about
being attacked not a dissatisfied bunch going rank!
C I-Q18 Par la discorde negligence Gauloyse
Sera passaige a Mahommet ouuert:
De sang trempe la terre et mer Senoyse
Le port Phocen de voiles et nefs couuert.
By dissension [and] neglect among the Gauls A passage shall be opened
to Mohammed---
The land and the sea of Sienna [shall be] soaked with blood, The
Phocaean port [shall be] covered with ships and sails.
[ 'Land soaked with blood, sea of Genoa and" Senoyse is probably an
error for Genoyse.]
Turkish invasions because of inadequate defences. The 'sea of Sienna'
is the Tyrrhenian, and 'port Phocen' is Marseilles, traditionally
founded from Phocaea.
