Finding the correct date for a future event in cryptic anagrams
is not an easy task, as evidenced by the Chirac non-event and the
Aegean Sea 2002 non-event.

In December 1994, I had begun a systematic deciphering of all of
Nostradamus' quatrains and I came upon bits and pieces of an
event concerning the destruction by fire of a house of the Queen
of England.
*
As Windsor castle had been hit by fire earlier, in 1992, I might
have been influenced by that event in the deciphering job. But
Windsor had not been destroyed, whereas 'my' anagram spoke of a
house destroyed. So, I abandoned that version of the quatrain,
thinking it about a future event which I would be unable to find.

When came September 11, 2001, the memory of that partially
deciphered quatrain came back. It suggested that a similar fate
awaited one of Britain's royal palaces. But the nagging question
also came back: *when* is this to happen, if at all?

In anagrams, when you have a ton of M, D, C, X, V, I, (and even
some Us which can be used as Vs) a most difficult task is to
place them in the correct order, so as to give a correct date.

The passage of time has already invalidated at least one future
year for this alleged event, i.e., that of 2005. An amended
deciphered text now produces the year 2015. But I am left with
the same question: is that 'new' date the correct one?

Here is the original quatrain:

My only clue is this "Annibal", which happens to be the cryptic
anagram of... (T)aliban! There is of course a lot of fear and
horror in this meaningful gobbledygook, but nothing suggesting an
event occurring in Britain.

And here is my latest decryption:

In English: "When the Arabic Hell of Year II Thousand and Fifteen
shall destroy a House of the Great Queene of the valiant Englyshe
to punish the Dear US, my Paris shall live II Years before the
rude Bomb."

Here, two deciphered lines are complementary: in years, the total
of lines 1 and 4 equals 17. However, to produce other references
to 2017, year of the destruction of Paris, other combinations
were possible. I do not know if the correct date has been found;
all I know is that a correct date *must* cause line 4 to be
deciphered so as to give -- in combination with line 1 -- a total
of 17.

As with the Aegean Sea non-event of 2002, we shall know in 2015
if this date is indeed correct or not.
