Entertainment correspondent Steven Cojocaru looking for another kidney
transplant
The Associated Press
NEW YORK =97 Steven Cojocaru is looking for another kidney transplant
after the first donated kidney had to be removed due to infection.
Cojocaru, a correspondent for syndicated TV shows "Entertainment
Tonight" and "The Insider," received a kidney from a friend in January.
That kidney was removed in June after it became infected with a virus
that can afflict transplant recipients and lead to eventual loss of the
organ.
The red carpet mainstay says the virus is now gone, leaving him in
proper shape for a new transplant. He is seeking the right donor match.
"Now I feel 100 percent," Cojocaru tells Us Weekly in an interview. "I'm
alive and kicking and concentrating on buying my fall wardrobe!"
The 40-something fashion commentator suffers from polycystic kidney
disease, a hereditary disorder that causes the growth of cysts on the
kidney.
After going though "drama detox," Cojocaru says he's now ready to return
to work. He plans to be back on the red carpet for the MTV Video Music
Awards in Miami on Aug. 28.
Cojocaru says he's "determined" to get another kidney and is trying to
"help make donating kidneys the new, trendy, hot thing to do. Hotter
than buying a house in Malibu."
"Kidneys are the new black!" he joked.

Awe...Thanks Woods but I'd feel bad getting prayers for something so
minor.
What Steve has is a progressive disease and I just have a few cysts. I'm
told that many people have them and don't even know it. We found out
that my son also had one. I'm not sure if they go away in time or what.
My doctor said they don't do anything unless they "bother"
you...whatever that means!
So please save them up for me in case one day I REALLY need them. Like
Cojo. A second kidney transplant. WoW! It's hard enough to come up with
one match and then to have to turn around and go thru it all again.

Perhaps it's time the Clonefactories come into play and start making
spareparts
of human organs. Then we all have a box somewhere in a freezer with our own
spareparts when we need one!

But what if the clones, "your insurance policy" start having memories of
their human twin and figure out what is going on, that they are being
manufactured just for parts....and that THERE IS NO ISLAND!!
And they escape and show up up at their double's apartment!
Could be disastrous! :-O

That's why I rather choose separated bodyparts in boxes, like kidneys,
hearts,
lungs, few livers, blatter, a few hands with fingers, also a couple of feet,
eyes, ears,
skin, perhaps even a few balls and dicks! ;)
No scary Island stuff! Me and my girlfriend visit that movie next month.
Kind Regards,
Barbarossa

I don't think anything is too minor to pray over. It does the prayer
and the prayee both good. Heck, I even pray for people's cats and dogs.
(Er ... no offense! ;-O )

Well, then, we should be praying they don't ever bother you or your son!

Yeah, that's a pretty bad thing, But, from what I've read, kidneys are
about the next easiest thing to match up after blood ... although
there's a big step between matchin blood and kidneys!

Wally said,
"no !"
Oh come on Wally...I have an axe to hand...;)
Seriously, I may well need one sooner or later. Lucky me in this last
year, I've just had my blood tested and the creatanine level is amost
the same as last year (Was 246..now 247)
The previous year (2003) it was 210, and in 2002 it was 200.
If it reaches 500, then it's time to 'see' Lightwing! Dialysis doesn't
seem like a lot of fun.
The best alternative is China. They use the organs of hanged criminals
for transplants. $10,000 should do 'the lot' including a good match.
Maybe that's why the Chinese hang so many people? Anyway, there are
dark mutterings that some organs are removed BEFORE hanging. They work
better, and last longer, that way!
So....My axe is sharp Wally...;)
