"What we really need is more fencing to stop them, but they would probably
find another way out before long," Lindley complained.
So bowhunters are the only solution. Wonder what mutton jerky tastes like.

I can tell you lamb-burger is somewhat fatty. Methinks the
sheep eat too well. We should run them around with dogs for
a few months then kill and eat them.

What torture 'em like an Iraqi prisoner of war first?
That'll really break Dani's heart. :-)

Anyone who thinks cows are little and cute has some learning
to do. Cows are neither little nor cute. I admit they do have
a certain stupid look that appeals for sympathy, but that's all.
I had some relatives in Wyoming who raised cattle on a small
ranch and they would become very attached to their cows,
even naming them sometimes. I personally wouldn't get too
attached to an animal who's head could go on the chopping
block.

I understand where you're coming from. I stopped on my way to our nearest
large city yesterday to take some portraits of some milk cows. I was able
to zoom in nicely for some chin to ear tip shots. Too bad they can't be
posted here. You'd see the meaning of the old adage about the eyes being
windows to the souls. Cows don't have souls. Should have some cute shots
tho.

It could be one way of remembering how sweet and tender Flossie always was
tho.

Too true! My mother taught kindergarten and one day a Mom brought in a lamb
for show-and-tell. The family had just taken up sheep farming and the
little boy told Mom that the lamb's name was "Lammipie". Anyway, some time
later, Mom asked the kid how Lammiepie was. The kid said, "We ate him."
When Mom next spoke to the boy's mother, she admitted that they decided they
shouldn't name the livestock!

Too much bull-fighting TV for you, Woods. Maybe it would be unwise

for the most part, cattle are rather slow moving, placid animals.

I had a herd come running at me and my friends once, that's how I know that you
can't outrun 'em. (One of them lived on a dairy farm, the hillside farm
type that's disappearing). We were a lot closer to the fence, so we got out
okay without getting bumped/trampled by the big, stupid, clumsy critters. I
have no idea what possessed them to come running like that, but they're so big
and stupid that I wasn't about to stand there to try and figure it out. You

Anyone who thinks cows are little and cute has some learning
to do. Cows are neither little nor cute. I admit they do have
a certain stupid look that appeals for sympathy, but that's all.

I like cows, myself - but you don't want to ever get into the field
with them,

because no way are you gonna outrun them if they decide to go for a
run in

your

direction.

Too much bull-fighting TV for you, Woods. Maybe it would be unwise
entering the field in a red t-shirt and waving your arms around, but
for the most part, cattle are rather slow moving, placid animals.

I had a herd come running at me and my friends once, that's how I know
that you
can't outrun 'em. (One of them lived on a dairy farm, the hillside
farm
type that's disappearing). We were a lot closer to the fence, so we
got
out
okay without getting bumped/trampled by the big, stupid, clumsy
critters. I
have no idea what possessed them to come running like that, but they're
so big
and stupid that I wasn't about to stand there to try and figure it out.
You
never know what's going to spook an animal ...

Now c'mon ... how stupid can they be if they can 'tuck and roll' across
a
device meant to contain them ?? Sheep are wisening up ....

Maybe sheep are smarter than cows.

I'm surprised no one has designed automatic weapons they can fire ...
they'd be great in battle.

The Kamikaze Cows would be a great anime parody show! :-)

Woods

LOL ... right up there with the Ninja Turtles ...

I can tell you lamb-burger is somewhat fatty. Methinks the
sheep eat too well. We should run them around with dogs for
a few months then kill and eat them.

What torture 'em like an Iraqi prisoner of war first?

That'll really break Dani's heart. :-)

I think it was waving the bag of burger buns in one hand and the steak
knife in the other that might've upset them ...

LOL! I think American cows have learnt to fight back. They're taking
a stand against terror! Fiver and Cowslip have sounded the alarm,
raising their readiness to DefCon 1!

I'll tell you what. Pretty soon they'll be talking and
wooing our young females. Still, they don't have the
grasping thumb so they may have some evolution ahead
of them.
I'd like to see more sci-fi stuff where different evolutionary
courses occur, possibly a futuristic setting where some other
species becomes a contender with humans for global domination,
and some interspecies breeding just for fun.

There's already plenty of sheep involved in the War on Terror, Ex.

Not unless you think Jean, DW, McDonald and Tony are intelligent. ;-)
