Thanks for this, Woods. This is one of the main reasons I like hanging out
here. It's one of my favorite "connections".
I love Mr. Olberman's passion. It's about time. You wonder where it's been
hiding. They must be sensing a rising wave in the populace.
I hope the Democrats distill what Keith says and pound away on it. No need
for a lot of overwrought eloquence, keep it simple.
And it's very simple. Lies, incompetence and special interest. Iraq,
Afghanistan, mischaracterization and windfalls for the drug and oil
industries.
All the republicans have are cheap slogans and nothing but sad results to
show . Hopefully the old "fear and smear" garbage won't work this November.
I think America has seen quite enough.
James Carville says that if they can't win in this environment then they
have to re-evaluate the foundations of the party. The foundation should
have a little courage in it.
And then there are the surprises that might come.

They have highly funded think-tanks to come up with verbiage in which to
frame things to manipulate the media and the masses. I suggest a very
eye-opening book, "Don't Think of an Elephant" by George Lakoff. A very
interesting read. Mind-boggling, actually ...

You mean, like an announcement from the second-in-command of al qaeda that
Americans should convert to Islam because they may not have any more time?
Interesting timing there - almost as if they WANT American to rally
around Bush to continue his anti-Muslim crusade, huh? Interesting how
they keep giving their greatest enemies the biggest boost they could
possibly get (fear factor). Something is definitely weird with that - I
mean, I know they're nuts, but they sure aren't stupid!

I'll look for that the next time I'm in a bookstore.
Highly recommended: "Why We Fight" a documentary by Eugene Jarecki, recently
released on DVD. The filmmaker's discoveries after being struck by the
content and conviction of Dwight Eisenhower's speech to the nation on the
eve of leaving office. The famous "military/industrial complex" speech.
Much of this is pretty common knowledge to informed people but it distills
the truth of the Bush/neocon machinations in the march to Iraq and some
excellent history.
This is the sort of thing that needs to be seen and spoken about as often as
possible over the next couple of months.

I think they know how to bleed us.
Many see this announcement as the signal for the next round of attacks. But
ya don't know for sure 'til the explosions start going off.
