I finally got around to resizing a couple of photos (and installing
another, binaries friendly, newsreader) to post in apn's favorite
alternative group. One of them is marked "test", the others are "dack
swamp", "dack reflection" and "around the bend".
I definitely need an SLR camera, I can really feel the
limitations when you can't control for back lighting, or change the
exposure/timing for different effects. Could also use some filters.
(Next anniversary! :-)

Nice shots Woods! Actually pretty fantastic!
The milkweed (test), is that frost on it?
All the shots are gorgeous.
.... and yes, you have my wholehearted endorsement for an SLR. My digi
let's me shoot full manual, although it's not an SLR it has a 10X
stabilized zoom.
Cheers!!

Thanks, Marv - that means a lot, coming from you. ^_^

Yes. Everything had that one-sided frost on it. I tried taking some
photos of the the whole field that milkweed was near, but it really didn't
come out well in the photos. It was gorgeous irl.

Thanks. The shots actually set themselves up for me. The milkweed &
swamp ones were taken probably about 1 1/2 to 2 hours from where you live
(northern dacks). They were all taken from the shoulder of the road.

I want to be able to swap out lenses like I could with my old Canon.
I took some photos of early dawn, but they really didn't come out
too well because I was too shaky (it was freezing - snow was crunching,
and I'd only brought my sweater up with me to close the camp). I did get
one nice one of early dawn that I'd like to turn into a large transparency
with a pale backlight on it in a frame. Not sure if anyone does that -
maybe I should ask my son-in-law about that ....

Cheers!!
