A film crew from Los Angeles spent two days this week in Hopkinsville
documenting the life of native son and clairvoyant Edgar Cayce for the
History Channel.
Project director and producer Mathilde Bittner and a production crew
from Authentic Entertainment Inc., shot footage for an upcoming
hourlong
documentary about Cayce's life and work. The working title of the
production is "The Other Nostradamus."
"We are going more indepth into his life and work rather than just a
biography," said Stuart Chait, segment producer for Authentic
Entertainment, an independent production company in Los Angeles. "We
are
going to examine the effect of his work in history."
Cayce was born in 1877 in the small south Christian community of
Beverly. Using his skills as a clairvoyant, Cayce is credited with more
than 14,000 medical diagnoses and readings while under hypnosis. He is
known worldwide as the "Sleeping Prophet."
"We are examining prophecy as a whole," Chait said. "We will be
comparing and contrasting Cayce with other historical prophets --
Nostradamus being one of them."
Museum director Donna K. Stone said Bittner contacted her a few weeks
ago about the project.
"We're always happy to do anything to help promote Edgar Cayce," Stone
said.
Christian County Historian William T. Turner guided the crew Sunday on
a
tour of Cayce's birthplace in Beverly, various houses where Cayce had
lived and his gravesite in Riverside Cemetery.
D.D. Cayce participated a reenactment of one of Edgar Cayce's reading
that was filmed at the museum on Monday. Extras in the reenactment were
Kenneth Means and Mary Ancil, members of the Southern Kentucky
Independent Theatre troupe, and Brandon Rawlins.
"The asked me to dress as Edgar Cayce would have dressed and I followed
instructions," said Cayce, who is a relative of the world-renowned
psychic.
Chait said production on the documentary began in July. In addition to
shooting footage in Hopkinsville, Chait said Bittner has conducted
research on Cayce at the Association for Research and Enlightenment
(ARE) in Virginia Beach, Va.
A broadcast date for the program has not been set, Chait said.
D.D. Cayce has been featured on several programs in an effort to tell
Edgar Cayce's life story. He said he's anticipating the release of this
documentary.
"I just hope that it turns out in good light for the community," D.D.

Hmmm .... prophecy wasn't really his thing, though. The vast majority
of stuff about future events/earth changes actually came from Hallaliel
(sp). Cayce did mostly on-the-spot clairvoyance stuff, very little
actual prophesying about the future, which is not something he appeared
to be very interested in at all.

direct descendant.
