Not THE Planet X, fortunately, but watch all the kooks come out of the
woodwork for a while...
It's temporarily named 'Lila' apparently after the child of one of the
discoverers. They have proposed an official but as yet undisclosed name
to the IAU. Designation is 2003 UB313 and it appears to be at least a
little larger than Pluto based on absolute magnitude, but more distant
and with a very high orbital inclination (44 degrees).
None of the prophets predicted this one....

Anyone fancy a guess what the planet will be called?
My guess is Apollo.

Shirley stated;-
"Anyone fancy a guess what the planet will be called? My guess is
Apollo."
I doubt that very much Shirley. Apollo was the mythical sun God, an
unlikely name for a cold barren distant planet...if planet it is.
I think this thread and conversation about the tenth planet is rather
old news, and I am suprised to see it being discussd.
The orbit of Pluto, and it's distance from the sun, makes it's claim to
be a planet dubious. Many years ago, variations in the orbit of Pluto
indicated that a further 'planet' existed beyond Pluto. It was
officially discovered in 2003 and even given a name. 'Charon' was that
name.
It too is unlikely to be a planet in the true sense of the word. A
wandering eccentric lump of rock would be a better definition.

I usually have problems interpreting the pictures in my dreams so I'm
sure I could stretch this one to fit if I tried. ;)

I wonder if the new planet bears a close resemblance to Earth? Not sure
how else the "closer to us than the moon is" would fit in. But yeah,
better than Turi. (Heck, mere chance has a higher hit rate than Turi does!)

It was huge and right in front of me and the moon was in the distance.
My saying it was newly formed was because it hadn't been seen before or
wasn't there before. You can take a picture and interpret it so many
different ways. That is what always messes me up. Luckily for the world
my dreams are usually on a small scale and of no earth-shattering
importance. ;)
I think I sometimes tap into things while I'm asleep for instance, one
morning just before coming completely awake, I was talking outloud to my
husband and told him I was reading the newspaper. I said a few lines
before I woke up and we then checked the newspaper and it was from a
furniture ad on the back page! LOL!
But yeah, better than Turi.

You'd have to stretch it quite a bit.
Something around 96AU at the moment.
ADn this object formed quite a while back, probably at the same time as
the rest of the solar system, it's not 'new' in that sense.
An Astronomical Unit is the mean distance between the sun and the Earth.
1 AU = 1 Astronomical Unit = 149,597,871 kilometers.
It will get closer, about 37AU at closest approach, which will be some
time in the 23rd Century. We can get the Enterprise to go check it out
then.....
Have a look at the orbital plot here-

I did and unfortunately it can't be viewed on my server. Sounded like it
was cool too, in 3D or something. But thanks anyway for the effort! :)
