Object: Predicting Your Own Self Demise
Except for Mr. HooRoo (Wally, 'The Aussie'), I have found this Site to have become "DEAD"
silent about future Catastrophes.
Could this be that you are in 'Total Denial', OR maybe you have finally come to grips with the
FACT that "Times, They Are A Changing."
Fasten Your Seatbelts, Its Only Just The Beginning !!!

It becomes too overwhelming for all of my fave peepz to worry about the
future !!
They're far too busy worrying about the "now" & rising petrol prices,
etc, etc, ad infinitum ad nauseam !!
But the times they are a changing as U so eloquently put it -- & might
I add that the fan has already given up the ghost & the Fat Lady is
getting pretty dang tired of waiting to hit the "high" note !!!

there are people still out there that can predict the future,.. they just
aren't as 'strong' as say nostradamus. I believe that anyone can if they

The other guy said
"this Site to have become "DEAD" silent about future Catastrophes."
That's easy enough to understand. Prediction that appear here, always
have, and always will be the result of over-active imaginations,
combined with a wish to be thought of as some form of wonderous
supernatural being.
If anyone does have the ability to fore-tell the future...then their
services are mis-directed. That ability would be of benefit to the
world, and that person feted as a saviour of mankind. He would recieve
accolades and endless thanks, from all Nations for his wonderous
ability.
This ng is hardly the place where one might discover such an incredibly
useful power being displayed.

Whether one can predict the future is not so interesting as the idea that .
it is possible for someone to have the 'experience' of being able to predict
the future. It must be a wonderful feeling to believe that ..

Yes. It opens doors to a concept of the Universe that turns Physics
upside down and opens a 'Pandora's box' of possibilities.
It is an area besieged by charletans and the insane. For that reason I
never discuss an event which I was priviliged to many years ago, and
which conclusively convinced me that the future is not 'set in stone',
but may be predicted through dreams or some other medium.
It's so personal, so complete that only the recipient can truly know.
Try to communicate the idea and sceptism is the result.
I 'know', but would never expect another person to accept a thing which
goes against all reason.
Yes Mondo. It is a wonderful feeling...but a frightening concept too.

I don't know if you are telling the truth, or just being sarcastic.
I considered myself an Atheist growing up. I've have always been a
'scientist'. But I had a similar kind of experience, which I do not discuss
for the same reason you describe. (I vaguely told Lightwing about it). It
wasn't a good drug trip either! But even if it was, that wouldn't have
mattered to me.
The main idea behind the theme is that it is possible for the 'mind' to have
any sort of 'wired' experience. To see reality this way does "open doors to
a concept of the Universe that turns Physics upside down and opens a
'Pandora's box' of possibilities" and is "an area besieged by charlatans
and the insane", as you say.
But .. it does have one useful feature. It can also includes the
'traditional' view of reality that's accepted in a particular culture. To
view things this way makes it easier to accept other people's beliefs.
Physics is just only one *idea* of the Universe, but it is not the *only*
idea of the Universe. People had experiences and lived *reality* l o n g
before Physics came along.
Just think all one has to do to *access* these 'other realities' is
*believe*!!!. That's the hard part.. believing!!! Believing in something is
the key that can open a whole vast world experiences. People really
'experience' what they believe. I don't have to debate this with anyone; I
know this to be so.
This is why I believe in God, but not in the traditional sense but I think
'God is in your mind' because your mind can have any sort of experience just
by just by believing in any sort of thing. The key is to believe, which like
I said, is not so easy.
Anyhow, it makes more sense for my intellect to define reality this way, as
the set of all 'experiences' instead of the set of all 'objects'. And
viewing it this way, I can still understand math, physics and evolution
just as easily as you can.

Mondo asked;-
"I don't know if you are telling the truth, or just being sarcastic."
Not too suprising given our history. No Mondo, no sarcasm at all. Every
word was meant, and every word is true.
I know...not just guess, that the future can be predicted. My 'full
stop' arrives at changing that future, even though it is fore-warned.
That leads to the pre-destination principle and a score of none too
enjoyable answers in accepting that as a dogma.
Thank you for you post. I have nothing there to contest at all. If you,
like me have certain knowledge, then yes...it is a thing that only the
holder can be positive about.
I am many things Iggy, but I count myself as a deep thinker too.
I have a million questions...but no real answers, just conjectures. My
post was genuine though..as is my appreciation of yours.
