And what about the 38 Republicons who voted against
the legislation?
The voting tally speaks for itself:
Yes, we all know how much Republican love corrupt campaign money!
"But opponents -- including the four major sponsors of the 2002 Bipartisan
Campaign Reform Act and the head of the Federal Election Commission -- said
the exemption is so broad it would open a huge loophole. Unregulated ``soft
money'' from corporations and unions could flow without limits to buy
political ads on Web sites and e-mail campaigns."
"``This legislation, under the guise of protecting bloggers, actually
undercuts the progress made by the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act and reopens
the floodgates of corrupting soft money,'' said Rep. Marty Meehan, D-Mass.,
one of the lead House sponsors of the 2002 reform legislation along with
Rep.
Chris Shays, R-Conn."

How would you feel about only allowing
political donations from individuals, and
then a limit of $1000 per candidate per
election? Also, disallowing all soft money
in politics?

*BAD* idea! Because our Republican war chest presently has
more than *400%* more dollars to spend on weapons of mass-
election for 2006, 2008 & beyond, than the Democrats have
available to spend in theirs. Money TALKS in politics...
Therefore, I'm for completely eliminating any such rules
which impede the free flow of money from the gigantic oil
companies, banks, corporations, et al super-rich backers
of our Republican party whose vast wealth overwhelmingly
surmounts that of the Democrats. Those ENORMOUS profits
which the oil companies are gouging from the fossil-fuel
addicted masses should go to support popular Republican
candidates in the coming elections, at least some of it
should. What's a paltry few billion here and there? :-D
They say that about one-fourth of all registered voters
strictly vote their wallet in lieu of party affiliation.
So let's give every one of those voters as many $$ as it
takes to buy their Republican votes come 2006, 2008, ad
infinitum. Whatever it takes to finish off the Democrats
once and for all I'm totally and unconditionally in favor
of. If it takes nuclear war, biological plagues, you name
it, I wholeheartedly *support* it if that's what it takes
to utterly destroy the Democrats and absolutely eradicate
them from the face of the Earth--I mean GLOBAL extinction.
Enjoy Life! (fillet a liberal for lunch)
