Kinda, doesn't he?
Didn't the press comment on G.W.'s silence during the raging
debate that followed the 2000 election?
[While at the same time Gore and the liberal press were making
quite a noise.]

Cen.8, Qua.41

A fox will be elected without saying a word,
Playing the saint in public *living on barley bread,
Afterwards he will very suddenly tyrannize,
Putting his foot on the throats of the greatest ones.

Granted this could apply to many, but this person must be "elected",
display conspicuous silence as regards the election, appear sly - like
a fox [or actually resemble one], and fulfill lines 3 & 4 at a critical juncture
in time, while playing the saint -and- living on "barley bread".

I know a lot of people don't like Dolores Cannon and her
"Conversations with Nostradamus", but I find some of her
interpretations quite interesting. Is she right, or is she wrong?
I don't know. Here's her view on C8 Q41 and the Bushies
(written in 1989):

I don't know. Here's her view on C8 Q41 and the Bushies
(written in 1989):

Dooo Dooo Doo Dolores "out there" Cannon, aka "the little pisstill" if you
are following this path thou art hopelessly lost!
Never mind a man called Leoni preceded Dolores and used his objectivity to
come up with this commentary:
C8Q41. This rather general one has been applied to several notables, perhaps
best of all to Napoleon III. He was indeed a fox and was elected President
in 1848 without saying very much. Line 3 be accomplished very well with the
coup which prepared the way for the Second Empire (December 2, 1851). Line 4
be also fulfilled well enough, but then almost any ruler can be accused of
the same. Le Pelletier must have had a terrible time trying to figure out
some way be could apply this to the Emperor without getting his book banned
and himself jailed. Torne, writing after the Fall of the Empire, made a
typical contribution for line 2. He quotes from a letter sent him by a
reader in Montauban (Lettres du Grand Prophete, p. 101):
I said to M.D .... His Majesty's pantler: "You should bake him a cake with
the finest flour ... .. You're quite mistaken, Napoleon III eats only barley
bread," he said to me seriously.
Though I think it is a future Q

Mainly quoted directly from Erika Cheetham (!) - then amplified with
the aid of Dolores's psychic regresssion subjects, who are allegedly
in touch with 'Nostradamus'.
Unfortunately, though, whoever this character is often doesn't
remember having written the verse under consideration, or even know
what it is about. In the case of IV.27, for example (Bk 2), he even
fails to recognise four prominent landmarks around his own birthplace
of St-Rémy and starts blithely prattling on about Egypt...!
I can't help wondering whether it isn't in reality Michel Nostradamus
le Jeune, a well-known imposter of the time...
Curiously, though, while this 'Nostradamus' character is possibly a
figment of their imaginations, they do sometimes seem to be in direct
touch with a possible scenario for the future...
Anyway, if you like that sort of thing, just hang around for a bit and
Nanomius will no doubt post his occasional 8-part 'FAQ' on the
subject.
But if you want information about Nostradamus, Dolores Cannon's books
are, I'm afraid, the last place you are likely to find any!

VIII.41. Original text of 1568 edition
Esleu sera Renad ne sonnant mot,
Faisant le saint [/] public vivant pain d’orge,
Tyrannizer apres tant ŕ un cop,
Mettant ŕ pied des plus grans sus la gorge.
Read as modern French:
Renard
tout ŕ coup
The Fox shall be elected, keeping mum,
Playing the saint, seen living on barley bread;
Then suddenly a tyrant he’ll become,
Trampling upon each noble’s throat instead.
Source: Presumably Pope Julius III (1550-5) - a devout priest who
nevertheless not only re-opened the repressive Council of Trent, but
for a while supported the Emperor Charles V in his wars against France
- here assimilated to the Mirabilis liber’s forecast of the decline
and corruption of the Church: see I.44, II.10, II.12.
