Re: Finally thee Antichrist: Nostradamus 3rd and Worst Greek God REVEALED |
If your basics are badly founded, how do you expect to be taken
seriously?
Just to give you an idea try someone with a clue:
C I-Q42 Le dix Kalendes d'Apuril de faict Gotique
Resuscit=E9 encor par gens malins:
Le feu estainct, assembl=E9e diabolique
cherchant les or du d'Amant et Pselyn.
[On] the 23rd of March [a] barbarous deed [IS] revived again by wicked
people; [When] the fire [is] out, a devilish assembly [Is] seeking the
liquors of adamant and selin.
This quatrain contains the most celebrated cruces in the Centuries3
despite the fact that it is not read as a 'prophecy. Line 1. In the
received text this lines one syllable too long. The 1557 edition reads
'd'Auril le fait Gotique,' suggesting that 'de' is extraneous. 'Le dix
Kalendes d'Auril' is the 23rd of March, the date of the Tubilustrium in
ancient Rome. This was a festival in honor of Mars or Vulcan, in which
trumpets were consecrated in fires. 'de/le faict Gotique' has usually
been taken to have a calendrical significance 'in the Gothic mode ' but
no convincing explanation has ever been advanced.' The obvious
interpretation is 'Gothic' in the sense of barbarous or savage, a
common usage in the 16th century. Another possibility is that 'Gotique'
is to be read 'Goetique' (goetic, magical), a read-ing which would
advance the possible theme of necromancy in the following lines. But
for 'Goetique' the metrics would
have to be adjusted: 'Le dix Kalendes d'Auril faict goetique.' 'defaict
Gotique' (Gothic defeat) would not fit the context. Line 4. Instead of
'or' (gold) texts from 1557 an read 'os' (bones). The most generally
accepted reading of the entire line is 'Cherchant les os du demon de
Psellin' (Seeking the bones of the demon of Psellin), with reference to
Psellus, a medieval writer on magic. But this reading does not explain
why demons should have bones or why Psellus should be so distorted.
I have read 'Cherchant les eaux d'adamant et selin.' Adamant is a
magical herb mentioned by Pliny, while selin is a term for several
herbs like celery, parsley and the poisonous water parsnip. It would be
tempting to read 'adamant' as 'diamond,' and 'os' as 'bones'-- but then
'selin' is not accounted for.
The most reasonable explanation at the moment is that this quatrain is
a tongue-in-cheek account of a pharmaceutical operation, presumably
distillation of poisons.
CIQ 42. Le Pelletier ties this one up with C1Q1 and C1Q2 as part of the
autobiographical material. He claims that inasmuch as Good Friday was
the best occasion for magical evocations, this verse tells on exactly
which night Nostradamus evoked his "demon" in accordance with the rites
prescribed by Psellus in De Daemonibus. But what with the change of
calendar and the mysterious "Gothic count" (which some commentators
insist means that Nostradamus foresaw the calendar change and is thus
designating the Old Style), it is difficult to tell the date intended.
In the years immediately preceding 1555, Good Friday came on April 15
in 1552, on March 31 in 1553 and on March 23 in 1554. Since the
calends was the first day of the Roman month, the tenth would
presumably be April 10. If, however, as some commentators would have
it, the date designates ten days before the calends, March 23, 1554,
works out very nicely. This would then be the date on which Nostradamus
wrote his first quatrain.

The satantists will look for messages in the music of Adam Ant and
Celine Dion?
