Christianity seems to be all about forgiveness, but I am confused by
this apparent ambiguity.
The Old Testament states: "thou shalt give life for life, eye for eye,
tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burning for burning,
wound for wound, stripe for stripe."
Jesus appears to contradict this in saying: "You have heard that it was
said, 'An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.' But I tell you, do
not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek,
turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take
your tunic, let him have your cloak as well."
But Jesus also says of the old testament: "Until Heaven and earth pass
away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass away from the law,
until all is accomplished".

There's a famous expression (attributed to Chaplain
H.M. Forgy, who was aboard the USS New Orleans amid
the Japs' attack on Pearl Harbor 7-Dec-1941) "Praise
the LORD, and pass the ammunition!" That sums it all
up in my book, in my personal opinion. And of course
anyone can selectively quote or cherry-pick passages
from the codified canon of Judeo-Xian scriptures, to
either support or contradict their religious agenda.
For example, here are just a couple of my thousands
of all-time favorite admonitions against Liberalism:
"Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for
the life of a murderer, which is guilty of
death: but he shall be surely put to death."
--Numbers 35:31, AV
Another resplendent example from the Latin Vulgate of
the incomparably well-educated and erudite St. Jerome
(whose translation is bar none the best in existence):
"verumtamen inimicos meos illos qui noluerunt
but yet the enemies of me, those who not are willing
me regnare super se adducite huc et
me to be reigning over them, lead you them here and
interficite ante me"--Lucas 19:27 editio Vulgata
kill them in the presence of me.--i. translation by DJ Min
And in greater context from the original Koi-ne' Greek:
"legw umin oti panti tw econti
I am saying to you that to everyone the having
doyhsetai apo de tou mh econtov kai
it will be given, from but the not having also
o ecei aryhsetai
that which he is having will be lifted up.
plhn touv ecyrouv mou toutouv touv mh
besides the enemies of me those the not
yelhsantav me basileusai ep autouv
to be willing me to reign over them
agagete wde kai katasfaxate autouv
lead you here and slaughter them
emprosyen mou" --kata loykan 19:26,27
in front of me.--Westcott-Hort, ITGS
And in the King's English of 1611:
"For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath
shall be given; and from him that hath not, even
that he hath shall be taken away from him. But those
mine enemies, which would not that I should reign
over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
And when he had thus spoken, he went before,
ascending up to Jerusalem."--Luke 19:26-28 AV

Anecdotally, during the summer of 1998, I posted every
book of the KJ Authorised Version of the Holy Bible in
response to a group of would-be critics (Atheists), who
cherry-picked scriptural passages which they believed
supported their religious agenda. I posted every book
from Genesis through Revelation, just to make a point:
People who don't truly believe it don't truly know it.
I don't mean to imply that I suspect you don't know it,
or don't believe it, far from it. I'm only pointing out
that Jesus said and did *many* things which people who
don't know and believe in God and God's Word are prone
to misconstrue as "contradictions" etc. One more quote:
"And there are also many other things which Jesus
did, the which, if they should be written every
one, I suppose that even the world itself could
not contain the books that should be written.
Amen."--John 21:25 AV

I've never heard anything so pathetically stupid in my whole fuckin'
life min. It's a mockery of common sense and logic, (not your strongest
qualities I know). A ridiculous way to get a point across.
What a tosser!

Would you mind if I passed you the ammunitions at (say) 2750 ft/sec?
