say 'enough is enough', and Vengefulness will be returned with 'Vengeance of its OWN KIND' ."

Second night of violence in Sydney

There has been a second consecutive night of violence in Sydney,
Australia. Dozens of cars and shops have been damaged during a rampage
by carloads of men through a southern suburb.
Residents of say around 30 to 40 carloads of men converged on the
suburb. One resident said the group used baseball bats to to smash car
windows.

"Everyone was inside, virtually asleep and they came through with
carloads and jumped out and threw shopping [carts] and bats through
cars," the resident said.
Six people were arrested.
In a neighbourhood near Cronulla Beach, where the violence erupted on
Sunday, another group of men pelted cars with rocks and bottles. The
windows of shops in the area were also smashed. The crowd dispersed
shortly after the police arrived.
The tensions come just 24 hours after race riots broke out , injuring
more than 20 people.
Police say some of the protesters abused and assaulted people who they
believed were of Middle Eastern background.
Australian Prime Minister John Howard has expressed concern about the
violence, saying it is important that those who break the law are
arrested and prosecuted. Howard says he does not think the unrest will
harm Australia's international reputation in the long-term. "You have
outbreaks of domestic discord, that happens to every country, and when
it occurs there's publicity," he said.
"But people make a judgment about this country over a longer term, they
don't make judgments about Australia based on incidents that occur over
a period of a few days."
Earlier, Howard said he does not believe there is underlying racism in
Australia. He has described the mob violence as sickening and
deplorable, saying it should be repudiated by all Australians. However,
he says it is important not to jump to conclusions about the unrest.
"I do not accept that there is underlying racism in this country," he
said. "I have always taken a more optimistic view of the character of
the Australian people."
The government in the state of New South Wales has confirmed white
supremacists were involved in the violence, but leader of Australia's
opposition Labor Party, Kim Beazley, says Australian multiculturalism
is alive and well. "This is simply criminal behavior, that's all there
is to it," he said.
