Interesting question. The surest way is to format your books, articles,
blogs, etc. in HTML--and better yet, PDF,--post them to free website(s)
and submit them to popular search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ask, etc).
Send them to friends and associates via email. Copy them to CDs and DVDs.
Circulate your books at fairs, gatherings, meetings, or wherever you can.
But that's assuming you're not in it for the love of money, i.e. you're
giving your work away for free--the labor of love, so to speak. You see,
a lot depends on your motivation and what exactly you'd like to publish...
However, if you are looking to make money on your work, then you'd best
consult a professional publisher--which will cost you time and money at
a minimum. It may pay off in the long run, but more often it won't, and
you could end up wallpapering your bathroom with rejection form letters.
Who knows? Stephen King persisted, and it finally paid off. Keep trying.
Also, be aware that in these very dangerous times we live in, there are
aggressive and nationwide boycotts gaining traction between Republicans
versus the Liberals, such as the "Buy Blue" website attests. If you are
submitting your work to a publisher, the first thing they'll look at is
your social, sexual, political, legal, religious, and academic dossier,
just like every employer is doing nowadays, in order to carefully screen
applicants for possible associations with either one party or the other.
The only exception to this rule is if they think your hard work can make
them money. Self-serving greed can blind Republicans and Liberals alike.
If they see dollar signs in your work, you could be the proverbial devil
himself and it wouldn't matter one iota. Most publishers worship mammon.
Liberals tend not to do business with Republicans, and Republicans tend
not to do business with Liberals. Most employers and business associates
will deny doing this, but in reality that's what's going on behind your
back. For example, I simply searched the Google usenet archives for the
author "
". Experienced skiptracers, detectives etc,
such as who work routinely for businesses large and small, will conduct
a comprehensive background check on prospective employees, contractors,
etc, but this is just one of the many paper trails they always analyze:
Google returns 162 posts since April 15th 2004. While the overwhelming
majority of usenet contributors have frequently and openly voiced their
opinions pro or con the USA, Republicans, Christians, etc., your record
is unusual, in that none of your posts by "
" (many
contributors post under more than one alias, ISPs, sock puppets, etc.)
show any of the common "red flag" biases, one way or the other, to wit:

You're either very careful, or you don't talk much about politics. I'd
guess the latter. But I'd still have a professional agency conduct a more
thorough background check on you, to make sure that my "guess" is a fact.
And I'd assuredly ask you candidly, "Are you a Republican, or a Liberal?"
Because I'm a Republican, if you answered "I'm a Liberal", then I'd ask
you, politely, to please exit these premises immediately before I have
to call security and have them escort you out the door--by brute force,
if necessary.
And there are always exceptions. Take Ann Coulter's excellent new book
'Godless: The Church of Liberalism' http://www.newsmax.com/adv/godless.
Even the Liberals are buying, reading and ineptly criticizing this book
en masse, owing to the clear and present danger against Liberal Atheists
that their draconian monopoly over America's public schools & government
in general is slated for annihilation and global extinction--which it is. :D
Enjoy!
