it had been prophesied that the meek would inherit the earth.
Some people are under the mistaken impression that Armageddon
will be predominantly nuclear. There will be limited nuclear
war, but the overwhelming majority of deaths will be caused
by pandemic plague. This is why the prophecies say that the
great battle to the end of the world will make more default
of flesh and bone, than of walls and stone.
