The Infinite versus The Finite

Our conscious comprehension of the universe does not allow us to
perceive it the way it really is, i.e. infinite. Instead we assimilate
it through measurement, believing that everything must have a
beginning and an end. An end to the frontiers of space and the cosmos!
How can this be? What would come next, and then next again, and so on?
To understand infinity for what it really means, can easily drive a
person's conscious mind to the brink of insanity.

In essence, an infinite universe is the true reality, albeit that it
is beyond the comprehension of the conscious mind. If you believe it
is otherwise, then you must hold that there is a measured boundary.
However, I suggest to those who are unable to perceive this concept,
to consider what lies beyond the mathematical boundaries they so
neatly put in place in order to make what they are measuring finite.

The reason for our difficulty in understanding anything beyond the
bounds of relativity and finite measurement is due to what is
essentially our three dimensional, (3-D), conscious perception of
reality which in itself will instinctively find a means to an end by
setting finite limits upon something which it is not in a position to
understand. So, how do we make it easier for ourselves to perceive the
concept of an infinite universe, if using our conscious mind will only
deceive us into finding a means towards an end (circular reasoning)?
Perhaps the only answer we are ever likely to obtain, using our
conscious faculties, is to use our imagination and make a hypothetical
comparison between a two dimensional creature and a three dimensional
creature.

To contemplate on this possibility, let us consider a three
dimensional creature trying to make contact with a two-dimensional
creature. Suppose that the planet Mars is inhabited by a civilization
of two-dimensional creatures. A traveler from Earth, (yourself), lands
on the surface of Mars, and you look at these creatures, which are
flat and of no thickness, only of length and width, (two-dimensional),
like the appearance of a television picture. They perhaps might see
you, but only in the way that they can perceive things, using their
own two-dimensional understanding, i.e. the points at which your feet
touch the ground. It is worth remembering at this point that these
two-dimensional creatures have no conception of height, only length
and width.

Each time you lift your feet off the ground, you vanish before their
eyes. If you should speak to them, then your voice would emanate from
everywhere, but from nowhere in particular. Finally in your anger, you
lift one of these creatures up from the ground, (assuming this were
possible), and then you drop him from a height of three feet.

The creature unable to comprehend this has an experience beyond his
own conscious perception, possibly viewing his friends in a way that
he has never imagined them before. He lands on the ground, and is
unable to explain rationally to his friends, exactly what has
happened. However, to his friends, either he simply vanished and
reappeared, or they were unable to observe it. So in your obvious
frustration, you then walk back to your spacecraft and your movements
appear as a variety of shapes and manifestations, (apparitions), which
the creatures may decide are of a divine nature.

If the above analogy is good, and I hold that it is as close as we are
ever going to get, from a three dimensional conscious explanation,
then a similar analogy could also be made between a four dimensional
life form and a three dimensional life form. To exist as a four
dimensional life form, this creature would need to be omnipotent,
whole, without measurement and incorporeal to our conscious senses. No
word could even describe this life form, because all the terminology
we use in our conscious language system, is of a relative nature and
measurable to what we are consciously describing. Such a life form
could therefore only exist as one complete whole, incorporating
everything, which is of a material nature, as well everything, which
is of an immaterial nature. This life substance would have to emanate
from both within and without the infinite universe, of mind, matter
and antimatter, everywhere, everything and at anytime. What else could
this life substance be, but what for what some use the term God, but
which i call the *Universal Mind*!
