I thought it might interest you to hear about some of my experiences
learning mediumship at a Spiritualist church. Since I've learned through a
systematic process, it seems to me that anyone could do the same thing. This
is different from a lot of what has been written on the subject which is
usually about people who are very psychic to begin with. I think it's
important for people to understand that these abilities are natural and
anyone can learn to develop their innate abilities.

Right on! If not the greatest, he was without any doubt the most
prolific psychic in the last nearly two millennia, the "sleeping
prophet" Edgar Cayce, who basically said the same thing: anybody
could do it, each to his or her own degree of unfoldment, albeit
with the usual caveats and reservations, good-will vs. ill-will,
with-God vs. without-God, etc. I am of course paraphrasing here.
The only other well-known, post-1st century AD psychic who gave
Cayce a "run for the money" had to be Nostradamus. Wouldn't it
be great if all six and a half billion people in the world were
prolific psychics on that level? The world would be Paradisiacal.
Meanwhile, there must be millions of genuinely talented psychics
around the world today, the vast majority of whom are unknown to
the public. But one thing is for sure, everything to do with the
supernatural and the occult is gaining widespread and mainstream
acceptance. Much thanks to Internet, but also popular television
series which reach millions every week. James Van Praagh's 'Ghost
Whisperer' gets impressive ratings, as primetime Fridays go. And
they just announced 'Ghost Hunters' has been renewed on Sci-Fi.
'Most Haunted' continues to run (mostly repeats) on the Travel
Channel, as do other paranormal-related shows. And with so many
psychic detectives-type series around, I would say the skeptics,
the unbelievers, had better run for cover (like they always do).
And for that matter, look how well J.K. Rowling did with 'Harry
Potter'. Books on the supernatural and occult-related subjects
are practically flying off the shelves. I've noticed that every
time I search the Internet for an occult-related subject, I get
more hits than similar searches have yielded in previous years.
And for every "debunkery" site on the list, there are a hundred
serious ones. Just try searching common terms like "ufo", "evp",
"ghost", "reincarnation", "tarot", "astrology", etc. Therefore...
I just don't see how the old-guard "fundies", mostly Christians
and Atheists here in the United States, and doubtless plenty of
"fundies" of the various religions in other parts of the world,
I just don't see how the naysayers, many Christians who call it
"satanism" or "the devil", many Atheists who call it "clap-trap"
or "insanity", ad nauseam, I just don't see how they can keep a
lid on this cauldron much longer. A very timely example of this
is found here http://www.cem.va.gov/cem/hm/hmemb.asp, which is
"Available Emblems of Belief for Placement on Government Head-
stones and Markers". Note the Wiccan Pentacle that was recently
added to the list (number 37). The "fundies" are having kittens! :)

Daniel Joseph Min
