I think you need to review your history a bit.
We were already in deep ***** well before then. We'd
been in Vietnam since the 50's, and the first
significant troup deployments were ordered by
Kennedy. The Tonkin Resolution (Johnson's first major
contribution) was in 1964, and Operation Rolling
Thunder began in 1965.
1966 saw a major build-up, but by the die had
already been cast.

Haven't you heard? The world is going to end in 2012. Or so claimed by
kooks who credit the Mayan Calender and the Bible as cites. Even though
no such evidence is noted in either historical reference nor by
Christians or desendents of Mayans. I do though plan on having a lot of
sex in 2011. I'll be 51 in that year so my order for Extra Strength
Buffered Viagra Caplets? have already been placed ;-)
