The Consequences of Bush's War
Operation Iraqi Freedom was an unnecessary war.
SNIP>
Finally, why do scores of millions of Arab and Islamic peoples hate us
and wish to see us humiliated in Iraq? At one time, we were the most
admired nation on earth. Is any of this our fault, unpatriotic as that
question may seem?
A bit early to call in the consequences of Bush's war but basically he
has
given Iraq to Iran.
LB
Too early? Too LATE, I would say. The damage has already been done. I
think the consequences of this war can already be calculated. Bush's
'hard-ball' tactics haven't earned the US any admiration in the outside
world. He's even succeeded in alienating historical 'old friends' of the
US. and just when you think he's made enough enemies, he goes looking for
more. Pulling out of those nuclear treaties with Russia...what does he
think that's going to achieve? a few skinny eyes from the Russian
federation for one. The proliferation of nuclear arms is already getting
out of control - India, Pakistan, China, France, Britain, Russia (et al),
north korea, plus plus plus.
The nuclear "powers" were already on the edge of their seats when India
and
Pakistan took their fight to the world arena by flexing their nuclear
muscles at each other, threatening to contaminate the world's environment
over a silly little plot of ground between them. Now we've got Bush
removing a restriction on the US's ability to further their strategic
defences, which is only going to tilt the scales - and now the other side
is
looking for balance. The end result: more and more destructive and
decisive
weaponry in a world which would rather not have any at all. He who has
weapons, wants to test them. How better than to hold another war, like
some
kind of modern jousting.
Bush's arrogance will hopefully be his downfall. He needs to read the
book
"How to win friends and influence people" a *little* more carefully. It
doesn't say "either you're with us, or against us". It certainly doesn't
say that you should call a group of seemingly unrelated states an "axis of
evil". By that, he's grouped them into an association with a common
goal -
defence! Basically telling them "you're next". Now we have North Korea
firing up their reactors and manufacturing enriched uranium for nuclear
weapons. Hmmm... I thought that is what we *didn't* want. Certainly the
world is turning to a ball of sh*t since that man was awarded his
election.
Can't he do *anything* right?
I think the consequences, LB, are all around us. You just have to stick
your head *outside* the US to see them more clearly.

I think one has to have been living underneath a mushroom if one doesn't see
what is happening around us.
The prophecies are being fulfilled. The Lord will smite the earth and rule
with a rod of iron.
Take refuge in the Lord God of Heaven. The REAL Christ will soon make his
appearance. The time for Salvation is nigh.
