Not if it can be proven that Rumsfeld and Powell were tasked to
cut a deal with the Ayatollahs to keep Bin Laden in Iran as
sanctuary. Rumsfeld is the one who ordered the 24 hour stand
down to allow 4,000 ISI officers to fly out of Masar-i-Sharif,
and allowed Bin Laden and nearly 1,000 Al Qaeda leaders
to escape into Iran.
That part is already historical record.
It would take someone with direct connections to
the Ayatollahs to know about the deal that Rumsfeld
and Powell cut.
