Yes, but he seemed pretty much out of it during his 2nd term. Sufficiently so
that Congress believed him when he said he had no recollection of meetings
involving the Iran-Contra debacle. I believe him, too - I'm sure he didn't
recall those meetings (but don't believe for a minute that Bush Sr., former head
of the CIA, was "out of the loop" on that).

The Vice President was not head of the CIA at that time.
Sometimes operations are put into action without the full knowledge of the Oval
Office, it's done in every administration for the purpose of "plausible
deniability" and is a neccessary function.

Nope, but he had the connections, the clearance, and Reagan was out of it.

You read too many pulp novels. "Plausible deniability" is when there's no paper
trail, and someone else further down the pecking order ends up taking the hit -
as happened with Ollie North. (Come on - you don't really believe that someone
who's nothing but a Colonel would come up with the financing and connections for
the Iran-Contra debacle, do you?!?)

You have said this about 5 times during the last few months, each time I point
out to you that it is simply not true, that even after he was out of office
President Reagan was very sharp and up on the issues.
He did several lengthy interviews in the early 1990's which are a testament to
his mental clarity.
You just have a hatred for Reagan as you had for both Predicent Bush and his
father and you take every opportunity to try to talk them down.

I disagree.
He did several lengthy interviews in the early 1990's which are a testament to
his mental clarity.
As has been pointed out on numerous occasions, lots of material in interviews
ends up on the cutting room floor - you have no idea how much of any interviews
actually made it to the final cut.
You just have a hatred for Reagan as you had for both Predicent Bush and his
father and you take every opportunity to try to talk them down.
I've stated numerous times how highly I have thought of Reagan. I have family
members who worked closely with him and had an extremely high regard for him.
It's merely an unfortunate fact that he was not completely with it during his
last term. I'm sorry if that distresses you, but that's just the way it was.
Bush, OTOH, I did initially like, as he seemed like a real down-to earth kind
of guy (unlike Gore!) but it didn't feel right to me how he got all the
endorsements of the GOP with essentially no experience - something was
definitely not right there. Now I consider him a danger to the world, and I
wouldn't trust him, nor the puppetmaster(s) pulling his strings, for anything.
I don't trust him, plain and simple. But "hatred" is much too strong a word -
it implies that I care enough to invest some emotion into him, and I simply
don't - I'm just doing what I can to keep him out a second term.
