Actually it's not my interpretation and I believe the last line is off
and should be instead:
Horses and Donkeys (Asses) will gnaw your bones.
Meaning there will be nothing left but bones therefore food for the
animals to chew on.
Actually, it means the opposite. There will be famine and you will be
gnawing at the bones of horses and donkeys probably because they will be
eaten as a last resort. "Tu rongeras les os."

Possibly true...but there's little time for famine for a quatrain
about soldiers in ships being overwhelmed by the ennemy. And "Ty"
rongeras les os sounds more like "te" rongeras les os then "TU"?
then again a few days without food during war and soldiers will eat anything.
