Civil War -- that's what Rice is talking about. Call a cease-fire, come
to an agreement and turn down the violence because you're hurting GOP
chances of retaining control this November. I think she even mentioned
something about there not being endless time for negotiations -- why
not? They're going to STAY THE COURSE aren't they?
Here's a clip from CNN on Condi Goes To Iraq.

Maybe if Bubble-Boy looked beyond his cronies and found someone with
some experience and knowledge of the region he could actually exert
some intelligent force in settling the disputes. No that wouldn't
'feel' right.
Oh well -- how the Chimp got re-elected is something the outside world
is still scratching it's collective head over.
Pray for deliverance this November. Foley may deliver. No one likes a
predator. A Republican one even less so.
Cheers!!

Rice presses Iraqis to curb violence

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice pressed
Iraqi leaders on Thursday to end their "political inaction" and put
aside their differences to rein in sectarian violence that threatens to
tear the country apart.
Her surprise visit, during a Middle East tour, focused new attention on
Iraq in the United States at a time when President George W. Bush's
administration is on the defensive over the war in campaigning for next
month's congressional elections.
Three years after U.S. forces toppled Saddam Hussein, Iraq is gripped
by an unrelenting Sunni insurgency and sectarian killings that Prime
Minister Nuri al-Maliki's Shi'ite-led national unity government is
struggling to contain.

That has got to be the toughest job in the world... trying to
put a positive spin on things when Iraq is in disarray and
your boss is a complete imbecile like Bush. You have to feel
a little sorry for the woman. She's probably one of the few
neocons who can actually distinguish between reality and all
the neocon lies (she's required by her job to tow the party line,
just as Colin Powell was).
Most of the neocons have built such an umbrella of fantasy
and deceit around themselves, they must have some trouble
distinguishing what is factual. They've become confused by
their own spin, sadly.

I still don't know how the Democrats were so inept that they couldn't
nominate someone who could defeat Bush.

That's true, the Democrats don't mind actual predators in their midst
as long as he's a good Democrat (Congressman Gerry Studds, who served
13 additional years after it was known he had sex with an underage
page), but they can't stand a guy who writes obscene instant messages
to former pages who have returned home. Yep, the great hope of the
Democratic Party -- to win Congress by default because they obviously
can't win it on merit.

Because you already know how a decorated combat

We also know what your friends made a
draft-dodger-turned-deserter look like...

Was it really the Democrats or was it the voters? Something didn't
click that's for sure.
I watched the televised debates -- to put it kindly, Bush did not
perform well. Bush won 51% of the votes cast, not exactly a ringing
endorsement for a 'war time' president.
Pray for deliverance this November. Foley may deliver. No one likes a

Democrats don't push the Bible thumping 'Family Values' agenda so I
guess voters are a bit more lenient when it comes to their
indescretions.
The Republicans couldn't field someone more appealling then Studds to
unseat him? Personally I would've asked for his resignation.
In Canada, I'd be considered 'right' of center. In the current
political climate of the U.S., there is no 'right of' or 'left of'
center, because the center does not exist anymore. The Republican's
have done everything within their means to appear as uncompromising as
possible. The problem with that is when they're wrong, which has been
often and catastrophicly so, they stay wrong.
And when this is pointed out you're accused of aiding and abetting the
terrorists. Highly divisive politics.
This week Bush was proclaiming 177 Democrats didn't want to listen in
on terrorist conversations because they voted against 'warrantless'
wiretapping -- this is a lie but if you're not with Bush then you're
with the terrorists. And this, I hope, will sink the Republicans in
November along with Foley and any other damaging information that comes
to light.
Cheers!

The republican relied on Swiftboating (read: outright lies) and, um, some
"help" in making sure that key districts weren't all that easy to be
represented in, if you know what I mean. Voting irregularities are still
under investigation, btw.

The question is -- How much of this does Bush really understand? He
can't still be deluding himself that this is all the work of Al Qaeda?
He's responding like a deer caught in the headlights - he's frozen in
terror. His Iraq policy has stagnated -- he has no clue how to deal
with the situation except spill more blood (13 U.S. soldiers killed in
3 days -- the start to what could be the bloodiest month since the
invasion began).
The Admin needs a negotiator who knows who the key players are from
each faction, who understands what each of them want and is capable of
forcing compromises. The U.S. is losing credibility (yes -- even more
then when Bubble-Boy won re-election).
Cheers!
