If you think not, then you're not thinking
in the long term.
The Iraqi governing council wants to put
Saddam on trial in Iraq, there is no death
penalty under current Iraqi law, therefore
Saddam Hussein will be imprisioned, but
for how long?
Once coalition forces are gone from Iraq,
it will only be a matter of time before the Baathist's
reunite and take power.
Leaving him alive was a huge mistake, he now lives
to fight another day.

Further evidence, if any were needed, of your dismal grip on reality.
One characteristic of the delusional is that no matter the plain-sight
evidence all around them, they somehow manage to construct an
alternate actuality that supports their fantasy. This would be you.

He's being interrogated by the CIA. He's the most watched man in

brought to trial, and given a world stage, he will speak great things and
deceive many.

Have you seen photos of the "rat hole"? It was actually a little apartment -
quite different from what we'd been led to believe initially. (Think they
have/had some photos of the inside on CNN - had a stove, counter, a couple of
beds, chairs - like that).

He's a mass murderer who deserved to be caught. I thought it would be
more difficult, but it did take 9 months or thereabouts. The trial of
Saddam will be strange. He could say a lot, or if drugged, he would be
a show. Maybe the trial will be delayed.

If you think not, then you're not thinking
in the long term.
The Iraqi governing council wants to put
Saddam on trial in Iraq, there is no death
penalty under current Iraqi law, therefore
Saddam Hussein will be imprisioned, but
for how long?
Once coalition forces are gone from Iraq,
it will only be a matter of time before the Baathist's
reunite and take power.
Leaving him alive was a huge mistake, he now lives
to fight another day.

Hole in your theory is that the Baathists have never been "united", they've been
in it for themselves and nobody else - so there can be no "reunited".

It ain't over till the fat lady sings. If they'd killed him, every ding-dong
Islamic psycho would suddenly look upon Saddam as a martyr and try to avenge his
death - far better to display him as the weak, broken, and disheveled man he
was, and give him a very, very fair trial. There is no question but that he is
guilty of crimes against humanity, so the outcome is assured regardless of how
fair the trial is.

The flip side to that is that the broken down old guy was probably
not coordinating attacks north and in Baghdad. He seemed to be a
hiding rat.

And where did you get this? The Baathists are very united, a very tightly knit
organization.

It's a bit OFF TOPIC, Anyway, what do you mean long term, he is 66 or so,
the trial could last for 10 years or more, how long you expect he lives 800
years?

The trial won't last that long, it will be over in months.
Anyway, the Ayatollah Khomeini wielded power in Iran into his 90's.

Absolutely. If I was the GI that found him his head would be ground chuck
today. They were seconds away from tossing a grenade in the hole they
said. Too bad...

So he can uproot three nations, right? He has to come back to power in
order to fulfill your interpretations of prophecy. If not who is the
antichrist? Bush?
