While I tend to agree that death is an appropriate sentence, I think the

Well for starters Saddam should be at the Hague facing the court for
his misdemeanours etc, but it will only be the cause for further
division.True, the Hague is really the only appropriate place for such a trial, but
I doubt the outcome would have been much different.

The trial would not have been the farce that it was in Iraq, also would
give the Hague some more credibility, and also give the Milosevic crowd
some one else to talk to.
But I suppose Saddam has to be silenced, he knows where too many
skeletons are hidden, never mind his own pogrom program.
