Saddam's regime was cruel and ugly
__________________________________________________________________
But that wasn't the reason why Halliburton's Oil Raiders went to Iraq.
__________________________________________________________________
So was the Nazi regieme. But many of Nazis were placed in power
following Germany's defeat at the
hands of the allies. Same with Japan.
How many times do we liberals have to tell you conservative stiff necks
that atrocities are commonly committed ON BOTH SIDES during wartime, and
that trying to finger one side as more moral than the other is a fool's
game.
The build-up of psychological warfare before actual bloodletting attempts
to dehumanize the enemy to the point that such abuses as reported in
Iraq's prison are made to seem "appropriate," even to those who would've
ordinarily (in peace time) not considered such heinous acts against their
own species. Those who are already bigoted before war breaks out and were
treating people poorly, war often gives them the moral green light to act
out their hatred and fear in extreme ways we've just recently seen in
Iraq.
That is why I am firmly against war that is unjustified, and only for war
in self-defense. And, that threat to a nation's right to exist MUST be
proven without doubt. As in the case of the Bush administration, they
repeatedly told the world that the threat to the USA, its vital interests
and its allies was definitely there and needed to be removed, with our
without UN approval, or the world's approval.
The WMD threat was not there as they claimed. Therefore, this war is not
only unjustified for self-defense, but it is patently immoral and
certainly, within the framework of the UN's international laws, illegal.
There is NOTHING here to support, buddy, but something horribly wrongful
and murderous. It is an act of mass murder against humanity, and, whether
by mistake of intelligence or outright lying, those who committed this
nations' young men and women to this mess of bloodletting, are criminals
and should NEVER be reelected. In fact, they should be removed from
office, sent to criminal court and tried, sentenced and punished.
Supporters who continue to hang on to this war as something necessary, now
emphasize that the war is about confronting international terrorism. These
misguided people seem to care nothing about the act of negligence or
outright lying perpetrated by the leaders they support, or care about the
untold suffering and death caused by them. It is more important to be
right at any cost, even a much wider conflict and more dead and injured,
than it is to admit wrong doing and stop this madness. They are a
self-righteous, fascist-minded bunch of folks who mix their racism and
extreme fear into a potentially more dangerous situation than anything
terrorism poses as a threat to world stability and peace.
The huge loss of civilian and combatant lives on the Iraqi side requires a
public apology from the USA and UK, withdrawal of troops, and
internationalization by the UN (and not including any US or British
soldiers, or any others currently there in support roles).
Your stupid support of this war is a reflection of the majority who ONCE
supported it, out of blind faith, ignorance, fear and hatred, and a
misguided desire to seek revenge for the WTC/Pentagon attacks. No longer,
by a majority, does the American public support this war. Finally,
Americans have seen the light that much of the rest of the world was
already seeing many months before in not supporting this morally wrongful,
horrible and unneeded warfare.
You, sir, are a childishly proud and arrogant, uncaring individual who
boils in his own personal stew of moral sickness and mental problems and,
one day, when you get older and look back on the moral wreckage you call
your lifetime, there will be likely little to be proud of at all.
Maturity requires admittance of wrong doing, apologies and a committed
attempt to not repeat the same errors. And, now, can this nation's leaders
and people do this and begin to move down the hard road to regaining the
world's trust, friendship and cooperation again? These people in elected
to high office have done very heavy damage, but it is not necessarily
hopelessly permanent.
If the world doesn't end, as you seem to expect or even hope for, and you
happen to be wrong, then you will be alive and look back on all this in
your older years and you'll find little or nothing to feel good about
yourself for supporting it. Life will grind on for you. Yes, you can
bicker and counter, and play it all like a game daily, and give yourself a
momentary ego boost or reduce your boredom and dissatisfaction with human
life, or your own, but this is not a game, fella, and real misery and
death await us all if this downward spiral in world relations isn't
stopped and reversed.

The opening paragraph of my reply to dungwalker, has a significant error.
It should've read "immoral" not "moral." Here is the corrected version:
How many times do we liberals have to tell you conservative stiff necks
that atrocities are commonly committed ON BOTH SIDES during wartime, and
that trying to finger one side as more immoral than the other is a fool's
game.
Just wanted to make sure I didn't give this NG's two wolf hounds, Jeano
