RIOTERS set fire to hundreds of vehicles yesterday in the impoverished
suburbs of north-eastern Paris, in the eighth night of unrest that has
now spread to other parts of the capital and other towns in France.
Local officials said they had lost patience with the government as
Dominique de Villepin, the prime minister, met his rival, Nicolas
Sarkozy, the interior minister, but kept a low profile after days of
squabbling over how to handle the crisis.
Police reported fewer clashes than previous nights, and residents said
the Eid al-Fitr holiday ending Ramadan may have calmed areas with large
Muslim populations.
However, the rioting spread, with some attacks reported in western
Paris suburbs - including the torching of 23 buses at a depot - and
cars firebombed around Rouen in northern France, Dijon in the east and
Marseille in the south.
The pattern of violence also changed, shifting from crowds clashing
with police to targeted arson attacks.
"I've had enough of this," said one woman in Aulnay-sous-Bois, a Paris
suburb where a large warehouse was burned down overnight. "This must
stop quickly. It's just not right."
Mayors from the riot-hit areas were also exasperated after Mr Villepin
briefed them on Thursday about an "action plan for the suburbs" he aims
to present later this month.
Jean-Christophe Lagarde, the mayor of Drancy, said: "Many of us told
him this isn't the time for an umpteenth plan. All we need is one death
and I think it will get out of control."
Rioting began last week after two teenagers of African origin died
while fleeing the police.

The "Ultimate Solution": ( I personally do not sanction this in any way )
But, the only way to apply a 'counter action' to the Muslim Extremists is to fight "Fire With
Fire" !!!
When "Christian Fundamentalists" start using the same 'Terroristic' methods (as those used by
the "Islamic Fundamentalists") on innocent people (of Muslim beliefs), will these 'Islamic
Terrorist' realize what they are TRULY doing to Humanity.
But, much like the situation that has existed in Ireland (and other countries) for decades,
each side needs to 'get in' the "Final Shot".
And so begins World War III.

The reason we HAVE such a serious problem is because Bush
did exactly that, fought them on THEIR level.
The only way to win is to PROVE that we're better than they are.

But, it does have a 'resounding APPEAL' (to the days of the 'Israeli Terrorists'), and how
they managed to secure their own country (50 yrs ago) !!!
After all, what is a better way to fight 'Terrorism' than to "Beat Them At Their Own Game"
??? (This was the 'Battle Cry" of the 'dis-sentient' Jewish People of the 1950s.)
And look at how 'successful' they have been (at securing their own Nation.) !!!

Maybe its time to "SWAP" those 'Rubber Bullets' for "Real Ones", and see how the "Chips May
Fall".

In this case, I agree with you, Kim. They need to declare martial law, and
fast, before the whole country goes up in flames.
I have also read that the same type of rioting is going on in Denmark, but
is not making the world press.

I'm new to this group,
But I did had to respond to what that person wrote that if we fight the
terrorist we would put our self on their level. I dont know who you are but
this was the best thing president Bush could have done, Arab's mentality is
if we would not fight them we are weak and would be the laughing stock in
the Arab world. The only thing they truly understand is fight fire with
fire.

Sorry, Naomi, but that AIN'T the way it works.
As it is, we ARE fighting on their level, AND losing!
THAT is what makes us the laughingstock of not JUST the Arabs,
but many others as well.
