Right after the 9-11 event, newspapers, magazines, the internet, and
television showed still pictures of the smoke of the 2nd plane strike and,
lo and behold, it looked like the classic face of Lucifer or the face of Bin
Laden. And then videos quickly surfaced showing a UFO hovering, manuevering
around the Twin Towers some time before the 9-11 event, and another video
showing an 'unexplained object' exiting the side of the towers after the 2nd
plane hit.
Why would you suppose that it was so very important to suggest a
supernatural force had participated in the 9-11 trajedy, or that space
aliens were in on it, too?
Because some portion of the public is in a frame of mind to accept such
ridiculous theories. It sells both for the corporate world and for
politicians and religious purveyors.
And, there you have the sticky essence of 9-11 conspiracy thought -- some
people want to believe that such terrible events are not merely some human
beings killing each other, but that something greater is involved, something
cosmic. When Katrina and Rita struck, there were reports circulating all
over the internet that the storms were caused by a government conspiracy --
weather modification to help bring about social chaos so that a police state
could be justified, etc.
Why not simply accept that horrible disasters are caused by human errors, by
human fanaticism and its murderous ways, or by the natural processes of our
environment? Because, IMO, there's nothing worse than thinking we're just a
vulnarable species living in an unpredictable, unstable world -- great
designs, plans are being made for us by God or Satan, or by a large
assemblage of co-conspirators over decades working to enslave us, and so
forth.
As Penn and Teller have said, "it's *****." Unless you want to believe it
ain't...
Doc :))~
