At least 8 moderate quakes, registering from 4.1 to 5.1 have rumbled off
the Oregon coastline since yesterday evening. Although not unusual (at
this point), the quakes are along the underwater volcanic ridge some 300
miles or more off the coastland.
Heightened earthquake activity has been recorded all over the Pacific Rim
in recent days.
Here in the NW USA, the ground has been relatively quiet so far. No
additional activity has been noted at Mt. St. Helens.
All is calm, all is good...*gulp*...

The fire alarm went of in my building today. It took me a long time to get
out. I couldn't find my keys, my shoes anything. If it was a real fire it
could have been a disaster. I should be more prepared.

I bet it was those Asian tenants that set it off. They like to do evil

Things like like that seem to happen mostly at the end of the month when
people are moving. People are angry at the management and they get brave
when they are leaving. It makes me glad to see others angry at the
management of my building too. If I knew who did it I would tell them to
keep up the good work. The management here are disgusting, moneymaking
sucmbags!!! They really place people at risk to save money and they don't
care about breaking the law either. But because of the Olympics comming
here, there are no cheap places to rent. Managers have gotten so greedy...

That's the way MANY apartment owners are, mondo, and always have been. My
folks and I managed apartment complexes and motels for about nine years
back in the 50s-60s. Greedy, uncaring, tricky owners were just as much in
evidence then as now. And there were managers that whored for their
paychecks, doing the owner's evil bidding. The apartment complex I roost
in now has a lying, tricky owner that has used various little dirty tricks
to keep people on leases, or sock 'em with extra expenses. And one of the
two managers is a blooming paranoid, assinine, prejudiced, psychotic
*****! She's so moody and difficult, I stopped talking to her some time
ago. The maintenance is mostly a joke, too. And what you said about
revengeful tenants getting unruly as they pull out, is sometimes true,
especially if they were given an eviction notice. Look out for the evicted
ones! They can be a mean lot. We had a couple of evicted hillbillies got
so pissed they crashed their truck into the manager's office front one
night, but their truck's engine wouldn't restart! LOL! They were stuck and
were later caught.
Welcome to corporate apartment living! As the recorded message in our
apartment place says, "Welcome to ---------Apartments, where you will
experience a better way of life. We have lovely 1 and 2 bedroom apartment
homes available, situated in a safe and beautiful setting..."
oh...jeezuz...I've had my car broken into three times...LOL!
