Sharon's Gaza Pullout Plan Gains Momentum
2101 GMT - Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's Gaza pullout plan has
a better chance of strong Cabinet support. On Aug. 3, the Shinui party
softened its stance on allowing the ultra-Orthodox United Torah
Judaism (UTJ) party into the coalition. Shinui says it will allow the
UTJ into the coalition as long as the moderate Labor Party is also
brought in and the Shas party is left out. Israeli media reports
Sharon rejected Shinui's terms but will probably negotiate further.
