Wonder how Rove will spin this report --
Dubya -- 'Well, yes -- er -- I mean -- lemme me finish -- it is unright
to think, uh -- what I'm trying to say is, the world is safer with
Saddam Hussien gone, no doubt about it and you cannot continue to think
in the world of pre-9-11 because Al Qaeda will not let us rest, we must
stay vigilant and finish this nobel crusade -- uh, no not crusade but
my A-GEN-da of Freedom. Do you see? Do you see what I mean? They're
wrong. They've not learned the lessons of 9-11 and the need to take out
Saddam and Al Qaeda -- do you see now? Saddam, 9-11 and Al Qaeda. It's
all there see? I just spelled it out for ya. Next question.'
And wtf has happened to the Democrats? They seem to be struggling
valiantly at pulling defeat from the jaws of victory. Bush's terror
bill agreement was a sham -- the 'Faux Opposition' of the McCain Rebels
caved in but the media seems to report it like Bush conceded. What a
joke -- why vote for the opposition when the Republican party is
already acting like an opposition party? No rubber-stamping Reichstag
they are.
Cheers!

Spy Agencies Say Iraq War Hurting U.S. Terror Fight

The war in Iraq has become a primary recruitment vehicle for violent
Islamic extremists, motivating a new generation of potential terrorists
around the world whose numbers may be increasing faster than the United
States and its allies can reduce the threat, U.S. intelligence analysts
have concluded.
A 30-page National Intelligence Estimate completed in April cites the
"centrality" of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, and the insurgency that has
followed, as the leading inspiration for new Islamic extremist networks
and cells that are united by little more than an anti-Western agenda.
It concludes that, rather than contributing to eventual victory in the
global counterterrorism struggle, the situation in Iraq has worsened
the U.S. position, according to officials familiar with the classified
document.
"It's a very candid assessment," one intelligence official said
yesterday of the estimate, the first formal examination of global
terrorist trends written by the National Intelligence Council since the
March 2003 invasion. "It's stating the obvious."
The NIE, whose contents were first reported by the New York Times,
coincides with public statements by senior intelligence officials
describing a different kind of conflict than the one outlined by
President Bush in a series of recent speeches marking the fifth
anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

Wonder how Rove will spin this report --

They've already shrugged it off on the Sunday morning news shows. Why in
the world would these monkeys start paying attention to any dissenting views
in the intelligence community when they ignored them prior to the invasion?
They are the masters of reality. They've got it right. Up til now they've
been able to enforce that reality however incompetently (maybe).
Here's what's right and real. Forging new bases in the areas of the world
of greatest importance to our strategic needs. The re-establishment of
perpetual war, a reality lost with the fall of the Soviet Union.
Iraq a breeding ground for more terrorists? So what? We'll just have to
get 'em next time. This will keep the masses focused on a threat and keep
the war machine producing wealth for the people that won't be sending their
own kids into battle.

I think it will be more along the lines of trying to shift the focus from
Bush having known for a fact that his policies have increased terrorism to
whoever leaked the story is "helping terrorists". I mean, the sheeple of
the United States has already fallen for that several times, might as well
run with what works, right? 9_9

Whoever is advising the Democrat party should be fired. They keep trying
to court the Conservatives, instead of setting a common goal and framing
that in a manner that will resonate with the American population. Heck,
all they have to run on right now is "Oppose Bush", and they'd probably
win, but they can't even do that right! They're spineless and pathetic!

Well, we all know that "stating the obvious" won't work with Bushites.
