Prior to June 6, 1944, quatrain I-29 was another piece of
meaningful gobbledygook, i.e., a text which appeared to mean
something, but which -- for all practical purposes -- was much
too obscure to mean anything definite.

Something to do with the sea, something which scares some people
and which allows others to rejoice, something to do with the
enemies [of France?].

Line 1 is quite a puzzle in and of itself: hard to identify a
fish which goes from sea to land. Line 2 is more specific, as it
speaks of the condition of the sea when this fish goes to land.
Line 3 is another puzzle: how can the shape of this fish be
weird, and how can it be at the same time both a pleasant sight
and a horrific sight? Line 4 indicates where this unusual
spectacle comes from (the sea), but also indicates to the reader
that something very peculiar is happening: that event causes to
enemy to rush to the walls... Usually the enemy is outside the
walls and seeks to overtake a fortified city. Here, it appears
that the coming of this unusual fish from the sea causes the
enemy to rush to the walls from inside the city to repel an
attacker.

After June 6, 1944, this enigma is solved. All its pieces nicely
fall into place.

First, the thousands of specially designed amphibious landing
crafts show up in a very agitated sea. Such a rough weather was
chosen to lure the enemy into thinking that no invasion would
ever take place under such adverse conditions. Both lines 1 and 2
are confirmed.

Line 3 concentrates on the shape of the landing crafts (they do
not look like fish at all!), and on their effect upon the
population: the French, under German occupation for over four
years, are elated at the Allied landing; and the Germans are
horrified by it. How does Nostradamus say it? Exactly like it
was. Finally, line 4 gives its secret when one realizes that the
poem is speaking of the Allied landing in German-occupied France,
on June 6, 1944. It is the enemy of France, Germany, which rushes
to the walls to repel France's friendly invaders.

Easy to see after June 6, 1944, but impossible to see *before*
then. No date, no place name, just the weather (a rough sea) and
the time of day (early morning) are given. The rest has to wait
for the actual landing to make sense.

Is there an explanation for the very odd manner in which this
poem has been written? Yes, there is. The poem is encyphered. And
its decyphered prose confirms the prophecy:
