Both African-American who have made it to the top and they are both
white as rice.
IOW, they don't fit their racial profile.

I think Rice is attractive, and is always very well put together. IMHO,

I personally think she's butt ugly - with her high ranking position,
you'd think she'd get to a *dentist* for Christ sake. Did you know
that normally the first thing people look at when they talk to you are
your teeth? I'm sorry but her teeth really bug me. MHO of course.

The best 'hot' thing that could be ascribed to her is burning at the
stake.
She is hideous. Her teeth remind me of a horse, and her make-up looks
to have been applied with a trowel by a blind man.

Her teeth are nothing in comparison to nearly all the Miss America
contestants (and the Osmonds) - they all have major Horse Teeth going
on. Make Rice's teeth practically look like they need to be even bigger.

I'm talking about the giant space in between her two front teeth, not
the size. Although the size does make the space seem worse. I try

Actually, that's due to the way a person swallows, rather than just
their teeth. Braces could close the gap, but the gap would come back
unless she wore a retainer for the rest of her life. Is it really such
a big issue that someone should bother with all that? It doesn't effect
her personality, which is what really counts, after all, so IMHO she
should just leave it as it.

Men tend to view women differently than women do. We tend to be trained
to view faults in various areas, whereas men seem to see the whole
package. If you are looking at a whole package, one small area doesn't
do too much to detract from the package.

She could also have the muscle that's holding them apart cut after
wearing braces to close the two front teeth. Sometimes the muscle
is too strong and like you say, she'd have to wear a retainer for the
rest of her life. But in some cases an oral surgeon can remedy the
problem.

You're right; and I'll admit I'm being petty by harping on it. But
can you deny that in our society today the appearance of one's
teeth are important? We're constantly seeing commercials about
whitening products - about how a beautiful smile makes you feel
more confident etc.. there's a high precedent set on it nowadays.
...maybe I've fallen into the trap.
But it's not as if I wouldn't hang with someone that was cool because
their teeth were messed up.
I dunno.. I just figured with all her money she could get 'em fixed is
all.

I'd say some (not all) men are trained to see looks first, even if the
woman is a complete dolt and still want her because of the way she
looks. Whereas women tend to see maturity, kindness, humor, a "soft
side" as the attractive and redeeming qualities in a man rather than
if he's attractive or not. Again (for the guys here) some, not all.

The muscles that causes the gap is called the tongue. ;-)
I think you're thinking about that skin that goes between your lip and
your upper gum. That actually doesn't cause a gap. My youngest son's
first dentist insisted that my son had to have oral surgery to get that
removed so he wouldn't have a gap, and I said no way is a six year old
with no adult teeth having surgery to correct a problem that doesn't
exist yet.
He never got a gap, the dentist was full of it. 9_9

Yes, you're right. It has gotten to the point where I actually notice
when someone has crooked teeth. The manufacturers of dental hygiene
products have created previously nonexistant needs for products that
they've come up with.
But it's not as if I wouldn't hang with someone that was cool because
their teeth were messed up.
I dunno.. I just figured with all her money she could get 'em fixed is
all.
Ever watch ST:TNG? IIRC, the gist of the reason why Captain Picard
didn't bother to do anything about his bald head, even though medical
science could have 'cured' it, was that people had gotten over the
physical appearance thing.
That said, I don't think I eve saw a fat person or a person with
seriously crooked/gapped teeth on the show, so, maybe the teeth are the
thing, after all! ^_^
Do you seriously think she's hot?

Women are trained to look at looks first, too, you know. You can't
honestly say that if you saw someone wearing a bright orange shirt with
a pair of red and green pants that you'd notice their sense of humor
right off! LOL! (Actually, I don't think we'd notice much else about
them besides their outfit .... maybe that's a bad analogy)
(maybe I should take a poll and ask the men here!)
Go ahead, it would be interesting.

An unlikely connection is that Jackson was nominated for the Nobel

in 2005.
