Why hasn't President Bush written one?

He's tried, but the crayons keep breaking.

To be on a little more serious, if he wrote one, I would read it. It
would be 'interesting' to see his life philosophy synopsized in his own
words.

Bush would probably run out of words after 1 or 2 paragraphs. It's
sort of like Ronald Reagan trying to talk nuclear disarmament
with Gorbachev at Reykjavik, Iceland in 1986. I'm sure at
least 5 minutes were devoted to arms talks, then Reagan
probably began 3 hours of old Hollywood stories. You just
can't change the basic nature of an animal that easily.

Typical leftist simpleton that you are, you continue to underestimate
Reagan. The irony is that you, simpleton, couldn't hold a candle to
Reagan and his accomplishments.

Are you talking about the same Reagan the rest of us are?!?

I don't know. Aren't we all talking about Ronald Wilson Reagan, the
40th President of the United States of America?

He was so out
of it that he called soldiers' uniforms "costumes", for crying out loud!
Not to mention the fact that *everyone* actually believed Reagan when he
claimed to have no knowledge of the Iran-Contra nonsense.

I know. It's always amazed me the way you wacky leftists think Reagan
was not only a certified idiot, but he was also the grand mastermind
of Iran-Contra. How could he possibly be both?

I think I made it pretty clear that Reagan didn't have the brain power to
"mastermind" anything, rather, that he was so weak-minded that Congress
actually believed that he didn't have a clue that it was even going on.

You're probably the only person in here that considers being addle-minded
an "accomplishment".

I was referring to Reagan's lifetime of accomplishments. He was
president of the Screen Actors Guild, a position to which he was
reelected several times. Why would all those actors reelect an addle-
minded man to negotiate contracts for them?
And later, he was governor of California for two terms. Imagine that,
he was reelected to a second term by the people of California during
the height of student anti-war disruptions on California university
campuses. And then he somehow got elected President of the United
States, and was reelected to that position for a second term. I'd call
those accomplishments. And you sit there in front of your computer and
arrogantly mock someone whose accomplishments put to shame EVERYONE
posting to this group.

The issue was his involvement in the Iran-Contra affair, not
his presiding over the Screen Actors Guild, and "addle-minded"
(confused) is a perfect description. Here are some more details
of those events.
Iran-Contra: Reagan uninformed; subordinates indicted
Reagan’s most damaging foreign-policy event was the Iran-contra
affair. Late in 1986 the administration admitted that it had been
secretly selling arms to Iran, with some of the profits possibly
going to the guerrillas in Nicaragua. Reagan claimed that he had
not been informed of the Iran-contra link. The two policies-selling
arms to Iran in apparent exchange for hostages and sending arms to
Nicaragua-triggered multiple investigations.
[The official 1987 report] depicted Reagan as confused and
uninformed, and concluded that his relaxed “personal management
style” had prevented him from controlling his subordinates.
Congressional committees heard testimony that Reagan did not know
of the diversion of funds. Most committee members signed a majority
report in Nov. 1987 asserting that although Reagan’s role in the
affair could not be determined precisely, he had clearly failed
to “take care that the laws be faithfully executed.” Poindexter,
North, and others were indicted in the affair.

Are you kidding me? The man can barely SPEAK let alone write!
And he's not a "leader" either.. when I think of a "leader" I imagine
someone brave, bold, intelligent, honest, decent and admirable. Bush
is *none* of those things. He's not my leader. If at all he is
considered one to any or many.. he ain't mine. He's an embarrassment.
And as far as the book.. the only way I could see him pulling that off
is if he had a loooot of help from others. As it stands now, he
doesn't even write his own *speeches* and then when it comes time to
read those speeches.. ever notice all the pauses and the "ahhhh's" and
the "uhmmm's" and the voice cracking and the words being pronounced
wrong?
Buy yeah, if a book did come out - I would read it outta shear
curiosity. I'd want to see if he'd continue on with his lies and
spin; or if after the fact, he would (somehow) develop a bit of
humanity and show some remorse for what he has done.
Believe me, if I was to read it, it would be read with a very
skeptical eye.
