In the 1920s either 5 or 7 U.S. Destroyers ran aground together -
following the leader.

Or you could just put it down to the fact that sheep are about the
stupidest animal on the face of the Earth, even by herdbeast standards.
Ask anyone who's worked with sheep, particularly Merinos, which are even
stupider than the average sheep. I'm amazed they can walk and breathe
at the same time without shorting out their microscopic brains.

Not so CO, recent studies reveal a sheep can recognize 300 individual
sheep in very short time, and also have good memeries, well indreeding
has it's drawbacks as we know from those royals that tainted the Euro
lines with a blood disorder.
Maybe the brain of the merino is not mean't for wool production.
Though like the scrub hen the original or proto ovine is/was a weird
creature.
try herding cats!

Indeed. The breed of sheep does make a difference. Crossbreeds don't
produce wool of the same quality as the Merino as a rule, but they are
definitely smarter, or more correctly, less stupid.
Maybe the brain of the merino is not mean't for wool production.
Works fine for wool production, it's the thinking part they have trouble
with....

Yep.
try herding cats!
Hah. I used to breed Siamese. Cats do not herd...

Don't tell the Kiwis about Kamikazee sheep, imagine that Wait until
they are in the gumboots before jumping, better than drop bears, and
maybe a soft landing.

Maybe the herd was owned by a bunch of "Sexually Repressed" Christians.
