Latest USGS reports shows the west coastline of South America being hit by some 'Major Quakes'
in the past few days.
How long before the 'Ripple Effect' of these quakes extend northwards into the western
coastline of North America ???

Earthquakes hit Indonesia and Japan
11/15/2005 -- 10:33(GMT+7)
Jakarta (VNA) - An earthquake measuring 9.9 on the Richter scale has
jolted Seram island, Maluku province, Indonesia, local media has
reported.
The quake, occurred on Nov. 13, lasted for 4 minutes and had an
epicentre 50km under the sea surface, said Benny Sipolo, director of
the Ambon Meteorology Centre. There were no immediate reports on
casualities and damage.
Another earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 shook northern
Japan on Nov. 15 morning, causing the Japan Meteorological Agency to
issue a tsunami warning.
The warning for a tsunami up to 50 centimeters high was issued for the
Pacific side of Iwate, Miyagi, Fukushima and Hokkaido.
The quake was centred off the coast of Sanriku in northern Japan. There
were no reports of injury or damage.-Enditem

I knew about the Japan quake, but I did not hear anything about the 9.9. Are you sure on that
one?

but it was very deep so surface damage would be very minimal !!
If it was a shallow quake & hit a populated area -- now *that* would be
one heck of an interesting EQ !!!

USGS listed that Quake as a 4.9.
I would be questioning those 'Local Sources' right about now !!!

Must be a typo thingie !!
A 9.9 EQ would really FRICK things up *BIG* time !!!
But it's not out of the realm of possibilities - a humungously
ginormous volcanic eruption coming next month will surprise all !!!
