Too bad all our National Guard are in Iraq fighting a losing
battle, otherwise they'd be able to help all these people, especially
elderly, who are without power and about to be hit with another
winter storm.

Southwest braces for another winter blast
Winter storm warnings covered much of New Mexico and parts of
Texas and Oklahoma on Friday night as a storm carrying the threat
of more snow and ice moved across the region. More than 70 people
are dead and more than 100,000 homes and businesses are without
power from earlier storms.

Evidently the governors of the states being hit with all this
weather aren't all that concerned about their constituents, or they'd call
their National Guard units back from being loaned to the feds.

So you think "all" our National Guard troops are in Iraq? Since that's
ridiculous, let's deal with facts for a change -- do you think *most*
National Guard troops are in Iraq?

You wouldn't know a fact if it struck you over the noggin.
Every person without power, especially the elderly, could have
benefited tremendously by the presence of 140,000 US National
Guard who are presently in Iraq dodging bullets being flung
by two civil warring factions.

I was giving you a chance to make up some argument on the fly, as Doc
would put it. But since you seem to be standing by your statement, let
me tell you in all honesty that there are not 140,000 National Guard
troops in Iraq. Try a different number (here's a hint: it's a much
lower number than 140,000).

I'm sure your math skills are on a par with your logical reasoning
skills, so I'll pass on the offer for discourse.

Seriously, do you actually believe there are 140,000 National Guard
troops in Iraq?

The equipment is in Iraq. That's why they didn't have equipment in place
to help people out during/after Katrina - the feds had the National Guard
& equipment in Iraq. This was reported at the time, must be you blocked
it out...
