The CIA refused to hand over a list of Iranians involved in clandestine
nuclear program to the State Dept, so they had someone do a Google search
for "Iran and nuclear" and sanctioned people whose names showed up (which
later was dropped because NObody on the list was any threat). No kidding!

This begs the question - where are they coming up with a list of whose
phones to tap? Is that from, like, Lycos?
My understanding was that it is a drag-net. Every call into or
out of the US gets tapped. Keyword matches get flagged for further
analysis. The NSA has this capability. With no real oversight though,
other types of calls may be getting tapped... this is a problem.
