Woodward's book should be a doozey.
I'll be looking for it on book shelves.

Aren't we blessed to have a silver spooned, semi-literate, incompetent,
lying weasel ***** for a president?
If his staff were as accomplished administratively and strategically as they
are accomplished at obfuscation and mischaracterization we would have
conquered the world in the last six years.
Thank God for all the mini-weasels infecting our world with spin also.

Woodward is either a stooge or a willing player.
My best guess is that his job is to hype the idea
of the number of attacks/casualties going up.
Why? It's an expectations game. Woodward is
claiming next year will see a huge increase in
voilence. If next year is no worse than this year
(which, by the way, has been awful), it will SEEM
-- because the expecation was more violence --
that things aren't so bad. If the number of attacks
actually drops, it would SEEM -- because
expectations were set so low -- that Bush is a
genuis. Not compared to anyone or anything, but
compared to expectations.

I was just thinking recently that another terror attack
would hurt Bush further, almost certainly. He is playing
his strongest hand right now, that we haven't been attacked
since 9-11 because of HIS POLICIES. If we were to get
attacked again, he would be finished.
Enjoy!!

Unless the attacks were bad enough that he'd need to declare martial law.

True, but if Bush tried imposing the US Military on the US people,
I think he'd find our military might fracture and turn on itself.
Our military personnel are US citizens also, with family of their own.
They've got brains of their own and perhaps better insight into what
is going on than we do.
This all sounds like another crap-shoot. Nobody really knows what
would happen. Perhaps this is how the Bush monkeys like things...
pure chaos. What's that old Chinese saying...
Crisis = Danger + Opportunity

I agree with you 100%. The trick to this will be scaring us enough to have
us demand whatever it takes to protect us or get us to accept that
strictures placed on our freedoms are the only way to guarantee our safety.

Depends. His core would circle the wagons -- convinced
that liberal, homosexual, academic feminists were at
fault. But...
But it would spell the end of Bush. He's not going to fool
the left or the middle again. They're not going to line up
to support him just so he can backstab them at every
opportunity again. They are not going to agree to set
aside finger pointing just so Bush can cowar behind his
surrogates (while they do his finger pointing for him)
again.

It would be grand if we had the truth coherently growing into a massive
crescendo, a gigantic wave by the first week of November.
And then in the midst of it all Mr. Bush "taking off the gloves" lying,
screeching fear and loathing as counterpoint. I have this image of Nixon,
wild eyed with sweaty lip, obvously jittery in the glare of television
lights.
Ah, the good old days.
