LONDON (Reuters) - Syria is telling Lebanon's Hizbollah movement to stop
firing rockets at Israel in a conflict sparked by the capture of two Israeli
soldiers, Syria's ambassador to London said on Friday.

increase domestic pressure on Hizbollah, Israeli planes have attacked Beirut

Could be some bitchslapping is going on behind the scenes. Iran, being the queen *****, was no doubt
slapped first. But who's doing the slapping? China? Russia? Both? Or perhaps it's as simple as Iran
gravely under estimating Israel's response to the border incursion and missing soldiers. Doesn't
really matter. All Iran and Syria can do now is sit back and watch Hezbullah get chopped to pieces.
If this wasn't such a dangerous situation, I'd actually enjoy it.

No doubt! Isaah 17:1 springs to mind, the nuking of Damascus. I don't think the Isrealis are going to stop this time, it feels to me like they mean to make an end of this
BS. Iran had better cool their rhetoric, or they could be on the target list too. Isreal is a First World power; having the Bomb, and the means to deliver it anywhere in
the world in an hour. Several years ago, the Isrealis launched an 800 pound payload into earth orbit, AGAINST the rotation of the planet. (Everyone else, including the
US, still uses the rotation of the planet to gain momentum on launch.) Nukes don't weigh that much, so one of theirs could be deorbited anywhere in two orbits.
Personally, I'm not concerned. I live three miles from Ground Zero for a first strike target, so I'll be instantaneously vaporized. I won't even have time to hurt, my

That wouldn't surprise me either. It's clear they're going to make and

Not just their rhetoric. Israel is claiming the latest rockets fired into
Israel were made in Iran.

But it is only a game of upping the ante, and logistically the
Israeli's cannot win, Sharon is on a holding pattern for the Reaper,
Dyan is a memory, and the adversaries have caught up to them, yes
Israel has more nukes but they are a very small country bounded by

Why would not Syria use nukes, if Yemen has scuds why not all the

some Syrian operatives?

Either Syria has a trick up their sleeve, or they're concerned
about getting seriously hurt by Israel. I have to wonder how much
of those countries' game plan is a waiting game, until A-Bombs

If we're paranoid it's because we're properly led and informed. :-)
I think it's the way "it" is because it's necessary to maintain the
perpetual war syndrome. The populace needs remain motivated, aggressive and
vigilant (paranoid if need be) in order to maintain America's position of
preeminence in the domination of the world's assets. It also keeps the
powers that be in a position where they can make an acceptable income and
maintain the lifestyle they've become accustomed to.

maintain the lifestyle they've become accustomed to.

That looks like the voice of reason, John. Do you mind spreading this
gospel throughout the Country for me..It looks to be a way in which the
majority of Americans would do well to consider.
So, here we have politics, American style, again showing it's patriotic
fervour. Hell, I sometimes think that the enmity between Democrats and
Republican voters is on a par with sectarian intolerance. Americans are
far more passionate about politics, far more opinianated and
intransigent, than we are in the UK.
I'm not attacking America, nor am I defending the fat ugly people of
England whose IQ is based on the amount of football they can disrupt,
and the quantities of beer they can consume before vomiting in the
gutter.
As a rule though, we don't really care an awful lot about politics.
People only vote through self-interest, rather than that which is best
for the long-term prosperity of the Country...Doesn't say too much for
this 'wonderful' system of democracy beloved of America, does it!
It's my birthday next week...and I admit that I will be bloody 61! Ugh.
The point of mentioning this, is to highlight the fact that I've never
voted in my life. It doesn't seem to matter which of the two main
parties are elected..the results are the same. I suppose that's why I
find the American trait of passionate political alliance so...well, so
hard to understand.

I tend to feel more strongly about politics when we get an
imbecile in office who does stupid things and threatens world
peace. That's when you realize that not voting is not the answer.

Ummm.I fancy that is when one believes that not voting IS the answer!
It was voting that caused the problem in the first place!
'Democracy' placed 'the imbecile' there. It hardly seems logical to
employ the same system again.

Voting is the answer, too bad not enough of us bother to exercise the
franchise. Less than half of the Registered Voters participated in the
last three general elections. Registered Voters make up about half of the
Eligible Voters in the country. Do the math. Decisions are made by those
who show up. Maybe if we made voting mandatory as a precondition for
government assistance we'd get a better turnout in November.

Well, you're encouraged to attack if you think it's necessary. Given the
base level of some of my fellow Americans in the past, Ricky, you should
continue in your eloquence in whatever manner you deem fit.

I get conflicted about voting. But this time it's clear that the vermin

I caught just the headline this week about an Associated Press poll showing
that the Republicans could well lose Congress this fall. Apparently most
Americans may realize that tearing down Bushworld is in their best interest.

Thank you, Woods. It's all pretty amazing. I've spent a fair amount of
time waiting in maternity wards over the years but this time it's deeply,
instinctively moving to see one's son holding his firstborn in his arms. I'm
sure you can relate to that.
I get invited over to their place all the time because I'm such a loving and

Perhaps a grain of paranoia isn't such a bad thing. Heaven knows Neville could've used a little more
suspiciousness. But then again, his trusting nature did help thin world population. Perhaps he was
an early advocate of "zero population growth". And who really knows......maybe Ahmadinejad only
wants nuclear power to keep the lights on. And his comment about the Holocaust..........awe shucks,
it was only to provoke thought.
Good day!

Heh. Yeah, we can do some pretty crazy stuff (usually, no harm intended).

You know, I wish I knew, but I really don't. Our media does a lot of
whipping people up, probably for ratings, and people just suck it up like
addicts. I really don't get it at all. Maybe we all know,
subconsciously, that nobody stays on top forever and the only way left for
us to go is down.

Can't you just leave these Countries alone? I'm certain they would

I wonder the same thing, Ricky. I guess we haven't had enough wars here
to really know what our government is doing when we wage war. The few
"film at 11" clips we see are cleaned up before we ever see them, so maybe
it's just plain old ignorance. But, like I said, I don't understand it a
bit. Some very bad karma gonna be come back at the US of A, and I really
don't like that thought.
