The recent moveon advert bad-mouthing Gen. Petraeus is in very,
really extremely, poor taste. Realize, most military personnel
hold about as high esteem for their bosses in Washington, D.C.,
as we slave-class civilians do, which is googols less than zero.
And if prophecy has any say in the matter, it's likely that the
military will soon be calling the shots, and quite literally so.
Thus, if I were you, I would remind the beloved military that we
do not blame them for the Anti-Christian Beltway politicians and
their big corporate sponsors. Generals did not give the order to
go fight the controlling elite's "blood-for-oil" contest in Iraq,
or anywhere else for that matter. Soldiers know when they sign up
for military service, that fighting, killing and dying are likely
to be part of the program (much like it is in this [NWO] country).
We all know that there are more than a few moronic imbeciles in the
military, but that goes with the territory. The military needs boots
on the ground, and until the draft returns (which it certainly will)
they take what they can get. Most are brave, good-hearted and quite
intelligent people, but not all of them are, that's for sure. Again,
that's not the military's fault. Like they say, ***** rolls downhill,
and the toilet seat of the world is located somewhere in Washington,
District of Columbia. That's why they'll need to reinstate the draft
and far more importantly they'll need to disestablish Anti-Christian
Atheism as the NWO's official State religion, and this at all costs:
"...par l'espace de vingt cinq ans, & seront plus

In order to get them elected the Republicans

In 2002 they smeared the hell out of Max

General Petraeus is not a candidate for political office, which makes
your attempted comparisons irrelevant.

The only thing moveon.org managed to do with that ad was to turn the
focus of the conversation to themselves -- and their tactics -- rather
than Iraq.

If that's true it's because their stupid twisting of General Petraeus'
name became a distraction.

No, I actually did not appreciate moveon's twisting of General

That has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that moveon's ad
turned the conversation onto themselves and their tactics. And look,
here you are participating in a thread on that very topic.

I'll let Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen explain the use of
the word "betray" to you, and why moveon's stupid use of the word
stupidly distracted from the message they were attempting to send:
[excerpt] Whatever the case, using "betray" -- a word associated with
treason -- recalls the ugly McCarthy era, when for too many
Republicans dissent corresponded with disloyalty. MoveOn.org and the
late senator from Wisconsin share a certain fondness for the low blow.

By the way, Randy, I notice you were quick to post an article about
Greenspan's claim that the Iraq war is largely about oil. But I notice
you completely ignored his clarification in the Washington Post:
[excerpt] Greenspan, who was the country's top voice on monetary
policy at the time Bush decided to go to war in Iraq, has refrained
from extensive public comment on it until now, but he made the
striking comment in a new memoir out today that "the Iraq War is
largely about oil." In the interview, he clarified that sentence in
his 531-page book, saying that while securing global oil supplies was
"not the administration's motive," he had presented the White House
with the case for why removing Hussein was important for the global
economy.
"I was not saying that that's the administration's motive," Greenspan
said in an interview Saturday, "I'm just saying that if somebody asked
me, 'Are we fortunate in taking out Saddam?' I would say it was
essential." [end excerpt]

Oh, I knew you'd find that lil' gem, Stevie. God, but you are predictable.
Greenspan's opinion that Saddam represented a security risk to the oil
deliveries to the West is irrational.
What purpose would it have served his oil dependent economy to greatly cut
its main source of revenue totally off, or even reduce it significantly?
Saddam would know this would provide an excuse for his removal if the US
couldn't find another appropriate reason.
Greenspan's rationale is seriously flawed, but despite his usual
politically oriented coyness, he is still right -- oil is a major reason
why the US is so seriously committed to the Gulf region. With Halliburton
setting up its international headquarters in Dubai, UAE, it is clear the
megacorporate investment there is extraordinary...enough to get lots more
Americans and nationals there killed and maimed to expand their profit
base and control...for years to come until a world war erupts.
With Blackwater's trigger-happy gunmen swaggering across the Iraqi sands,
indiscriminately filling residents with bullet holes, one can really see
how terribly committed the corporate world is in getting a return on its
increasingly large investment there.'
Yes, America, prepare to die in larger numbers in future 'necessary wars'.
Too bad you can't be one of 'em...you ball of methane.
Doc :))

Regardless of the characterisation of his report, insulting people by
making mockery of their name is an elementary school level of
argumentation.

You just described the state of the wacky left in this country --
they're emotional, they stomp their feet and throw tantrums; they're
utterly childish.

I've seen the word "demoncrat" too many times to accept your
restriction.

You're right, I don't like the wacky right either.

Which would mean.... what? That you don't believe
moveon.org said anything the least bit negative
about Patraeus?

Actually, I did think their stupid use of "betray us" was particularly
despicable.

Because, if you do believe, you either have to
demonstrate that it wasn't true, or agree that
Patraeus sucks. Because if what they're saying
about Patraeus is true -- and it sucks -- then
Patraeus sucks.

[end excerpt]

Uh...what that standard comical political stunt was referring to is the
nasty depressing fact that Gen. Gaius Cassius Longinus is simply a
political puppet for Bush and Cheney's failed Iraq policy...AND the
betrayal is to the young men and women whose lives are being wasted for
this subterfuge. And the betrayal of the public's desire to get the war
over ASAP. The general neither gives a hoot about wasted lives, being
biased and licking Bush's boots, or taking a ***** on the public's disgust
with Bush and the war.
(Oh, I know, the Roman General of ancient times was a co-conspirator in
the assassination of Julius Caesar. That remains to be seen - whether
Betrayus, er, Patreaous, will kill Bush. If he does, I'll have a more
positive view of him. Perhaps, I'm being unfair. Should we think of him as
a modern counterpart to Marcus Licinius Crassus? The Iraqi terrorists can
sub as the modern counterpart to Sparticus' slave army.)
Frankly, Stevie, my liberal general, Wesley Clark, can beat up your
conservative general Patreaous any day, with one arm tied behind his back.
What do you think of that challenge? You nutcase.
Doc :))~

Gen Petraeus' real betrayal is to give the impression that progress has
been made by 'the surge'. In fact, the only progress has been to decrease
violence in areas of increased troop concentration.. in *EVERY* other
respect, Iraq is no closer to stable independence than a year ago. The
neocons, and the BushCheney just don't want to admit this. Petraeus has
misled American just as surely as the BushCheney did 4 years ago when it
started the Iraq quagmire.

"My interest is, my one hobby is, maintaining a democracy. If you get
these 500,000 soldiers advocating anything smelling of Fascism, I am
going to get 500,000 more and lick the hell out of you, and we will
have a real war right at home."
Reply to Gerald MacGuire, after being asked to organize WWI veterans
(for military support) in a fascist-coup of FDR, as related by Butler
in testimony before Congress, 1934. A reporter (a Butler confidant)
testified MacGuire said, "We might go along with Roosevelt and then do
with him what Mussolini did with the King of Italy." Which was, made
him a figure-head.
now them's fightin words
is there a smedley butler quantrain ?
or a patreaous one ?
