Students Throw Rocks, Bottles At L.A. High School

LOS ANGELES -- A fight broke out Friday at the same high school that
has seen racial tension erupt several times before.

Campus police said Latino and African-American students began "facing
off," a precursor to an actual fight, around noon at Jordan High School
in Los Angeles.
When the students were told to go back to class, they responded by
throwing rocks and bottles at security officers, police said.
One student was charged with battery on a police officer. Students were
dismissed in staggered groups. Police said 100 students will be
disciplined.
