It's called Investo-Econo English.. It's the language investors speak
when they're trying to predict how deeply the BushCheney is going to
ram it inside them, and just how much of their brain is going to ooze

Guess you haven't been paying attention to what your Liberal
Presidential
candidates said in the last debate; they all said that they could not
say
that if elected President that all US forces would be out of Iraq by
1/20/2013
which of coruse would be at the end of their first term in office.
So at this point they are all in agreement with President Bush that we
cannot
withdraw US forces at this point int time, or even in the next 4 years
for that
matter. It seems you are even out of touch with the Liberal leaders in
the USA.

It all made sense to me Wolfy... Has to do with a mortgage fiasco in
the states.
Helicopter Ben was once quoted as saying something like, "well, if
that happens,
we'll just start throwing money out of helicopters." He does not care
at all about
massive inflation and the devaluation of the dollar.
Recently, he lowered the prime interest rate in the U.S. This was a
move to bail
out the mortgage banks. Bail out those banks, but at the expense of
the rest of the country because now all of our money is worth less
than it was.
Many economists think that the U.S. is about to burst a huge
real estate bubble (real estate is over-priced now the way that
tech. stocks were in 2001). I don't necessarily agree. I think
what's going
to happen is...the dollar is going to crash, massive inflation will
make the mortgages people are in look reasonable again because
$100k dollars will be about what you'll pay for say...a tank of gas.
Combine that with the Euro slowly taking over for the U.S. Dollar for
all

There's a lot of speculation about why Bernanke did that. Did the Fed
Bank finally decide that things are MUCH worse than previously thought ?
They lowered rates because the US is in serious risk of an economic
contraction, yet in doing so they guaranteed the dollar would slide
further downward (they must have estimated the benefit of lower money
rates to be worth the cost of a further declining dollar and associated
increased prices of all foreign goods).
I think the US Gov't is finally in between a rock and a hard spot where it
really can't do anything. It can't lower interest rates too much futher
without the double-whammy of hyper-inflation and a mass exodus of foreign
investment money to more attractive returns elsewhere, and at the same time
it can't suffer an economic slow-down or contraction and sit idly by doing
nothing. Unfortunately monetary policy is really the only tool the Fed's
have, yet by lowering interest rates to help the economy they will only
be increasing the costs of most things that we buy thereby actually
furthering the economic contraction. I wouldn't want to be Bernanke right
now.
Bail out those banks, but at the expense of
the rest of the country because now all of our money is worth less

Ahhhh, Alizee...;) She was a regular singer several years ago in
France, made quite a few famous songs then stopped. This must be her
first for a few years now.
So nice to see a French girl again...so different from the waddling
tattoed fat cows that wander English towns.
Song translations are a Hell of a thing really. Bad enough for a
native speaker to understand. This one is easy enough though, but if
you use one of those ridiculous translators on line you get the most
odd result!
So, in French she sings;
J'ai la peau douce
Dans mon bain de mousse
Je m'?clabousse
J'en ris !
Mon poisson rouge
Aussi...
J'ai la peau douce
Dans mon bain de mousse
Pas de secousses sismiques
Je me pr?lasse
Et me d?lasse
C'est mon ?tat aquatique
Y'a comme un hic!
That translates too; (This is the correct translation, not 'literal',
but the true meaning;
My skin is soft
In my foamy bath
I'm splashing about
And laughing!
My goldfish
In my foamy bath
I'm muffling him up
And telling him
I haven't got any problems
I'm lazing about
No troubles
I'm lazing about
I'm swimming in water
That's the most important thing
Feeling good just right now
My skin is soft
In my foamy bath
I'm burning in the shadows
Of bombs
Everything is wonderful
Beds and targets
I'm making a list of things
That inconvenience me
Chorus:
I'm sick of people who cry
Who are slow
Who moan and fix themselves
On the idea of a fixed idea
I'm sick of those who groan
Worthless extremists
Who have a gloomy view of everything
And who make me miserable
I'm sick of the elder sister
Who whines about everything and cries
I'm sick of rain, of courgettes
That make me vomit under the covers
I'm sick of cynics
And autumn crocus in the meadow
I'm sick of feeling sick
Also...
My skin is soft
In my foamy bath
No seismic shocks
I'm lounging about
And relaxing
It's my aquatic condition
There's like a problem!

Just had a thought about Claude the Fraud.
He's so...pompous...when he promotes himself for his vast knowledge of
a Pidgin French, a Quebec French. I wonder if he thinks she is singing
about cockroaches ?
Perhaps he might look at Alizee's lyrics and find some Doomsday

There you go Shast; Oh..don't even think about trying one of those on-

traduction. And no...she doesn't sing about cockroaches..whatever
those pretend translators might say!
Just had a thought about Claude the Fraud.
Werewolfy
Yes, and I had just had a thought about "Were (wolfy) the Queer"
who is on his way to Bangkok for the child sex industry.
Hope you get caught Douche Bag!!!

That vid is probably from years ago, hard to tell. She is/was amazing
though, so pretty, great moves.
This part was amazingly appropo:
I'm sick of people who cry
Who are slow
Who moan and fix themselves
On the idea of a fixed idea
I'm sick of those who groan
Worthless extremists
Who have a gloomy view of everything
And who make me miserable
LOL! Who says this is off-topic? (no offense uncle wally) Problem
is, I can't
help wondering if this criticism comes from a penetrating mind or from
a Marie-Antoinette-like apathy. Let these wothless extremists eat
cake!

I hadn't heard of this song before Shast..I think it's a new one.
Alizee was very young when she started singing professionally. She,
like just about every French girl, knows how to move with a mixture of
suggestion and grace. No vulgarity, just pure seductive movements.
Like all modern songs, the lyrics are often secondary to the
'beat'...but this one does contain the suprisingly appropriate lines
that you have noted.
I go for the 'in-depth' meaning. Young popular artistes like to think
in the same 'rebel' mould as their admirers.
"Who moan and fix themselves
On the idea of a fixed idea"
There's an obvious candidate for that one!
You had better hurry...I would rather like her too....;)

Yes, we know you like to follow the very young girls, that is why
you fly off to Bangkok to engage in the child sex, no?

Werewolfy

You identify yourself with the lines then? It didn't take you long to
admit being, 'The obvious candidate'.

I don't think it's over yet. Can you imagine the amount of CDO's that
need to be repriced and appraised...
Even the Federal Reserve no longer trusts one of the ratings agencies.
The Federal Reserve Board stopped using Fitch Investors Service as a
