Maybe there's something even more potentially embarrassing that he wants
to hide behind such a public display in the hope that the press/public will
busy themselves with the little he's thrown to them.

I read that the guy he had the affair with was demanding gazillions to keep
his mouth shut...don't know how true that is...but I wouldn't be surprised
if there was more to the story.
