AMD hopes for desktop PC boost with Spider
Posted by Tom Krazit
The first major fruits of Advanced Micro Devices' acquisition of ATI
Technologies are ready for the public just as the market for those products
is going through some profound changes.
Spider will be AMD's first "platform" product when it makes its expected
debut Monday. It is designed for desktop PCs, and the entire Spider package
comes with a new processor, AMD's quad-core Phenom chip, the new 7-series
chipsets, and new graphics chips.
The two Phenom FX processors launching Monday are essentially desktop
versions of AMD's Barcelona quad-core processors. They're designed for the
upper half of the desktop market: gamers who don't have thousands of dollars
to spend on the ultra high-end equipment and families who want a powerful
home PC without breaking the bank. When combined with the Radeon HD 3850 and
3870 unveiled last Wednesday, you get a pretty decent system for around $900
to $1,200, said Leslie Sobon, director of desktop product marketing for AMD.

Why did they call it The Spider, Wolfy? Well, we know WHY, don't we? AMD is
in on the coming spider conspiracy for a global take-over. Will the new
computer processors have a spider nest hidden in them? Sure, they will.
Their horrid furry lil' eggs planted inside, ready to hatch...!

I was hoping for a more intelligent response.
I suppose I've come to the wrong place for that.

You simply asked a stupid rhetorical question. If you'd like to be a usenet
purist, start your own lil' Nosty group and filter the posts.
Or, take your own cue, and start contributing Nosty stuff you think APN
should exclusively contain, and filter out your useless outrage.

Is posting about the latest AMD 'platform' on

Is defending such a post, like you were doing by attacking me, an

Is it useful to go on about a whimsical post meant to expressly entertain
just a few who are in on the joke, which, apparently, doesn't include you?
And is it mature or intelligent to engage a poster in a running argument
about it? Is there nothing more important on your agenda?
And, so, what do you think your indignation will accomplish?
We will conform to your parameters of discussion?
Are you the self-appointed monitor here?

I have to AGREE there 'Wolfy' !!!
What is a (an) AMD 'Spider' post doing on an
'alt.prophecies.nostradamus' THREAD ???
Especially when this is a 'Sub-Par" attempt by AMD - to compete with
Intel's "Latest" offerings !!!
Your ATTEMPT to 'defend' this thread - is as 'feeble', as AMD's
attempt -to put out an INTEL "Killer".
Especially when they started using 'ACRONYMs' (like Microsoft tried to
do with their 'DNS' Server structure) - that tried to use an
'ACRONYM' - that already had another (more common) given use to the
TERM - with a more important MEANING !!!

The REAL 'concept' MAL-FUNCTION here is "choosing" the word SPIDER.
A 'SPIDER' has been an Industry "STANDARD" name - used by Web Ferrets
- looking for commonly accessed Stock Investments.
More 'recently' - it has been used by the NSA (and the CIA, FBI &
CICS) - to search out 'key' words - used on the Internet.
Call me 'PARANOID
But, Didn't I "Tell You So' - is probably the 'WORD' of the DAY -
"Right Now" !!!
[It was Six Months - Ago !!! ]
