majority of the left-wingers in the south bitterly opposed it and
getting off their slave plantations and sending their sons to =

Why? Because they had enough money and guns to live a good life and
felt nothing to do with standing up and fighting the British who =

supported the left wing King George).
Bush is honest in this regards. If more Americans banded together =
this
war would be over sooner. Bad people have attacked our land and they
are in the Middle East now. We (Americans) have chased them out of
Afghanistan into other regions. The easiest place to go was Iraq to
fight these guys. The American troops and the collation are fighting
to preserve the way of life of all you ingrates (ungrateful for what
you have). The only reason you were happy under Clinton was that he
hid terrorist attacks against the U.S. from your antennas and =
appeased
the Chinese with nuclear weapon technology that brought trillions of
dollars into the United States economy appeasing the leftist =
appetite
for drugs, entertainment and lazy living. Now, when a leader stands =
up
to these terrorists you ban him a traitor and call him school yard
names because it has shaken you from your dream-like-state that you
lived under the 'real' American traitor.
In history the only nations that survive are warlike nations. This
implies all the famous Empires, Nations, and Republics. Sparta =

addition, there countries that they live in do not tolerate free
speech when it comes to taking about corruption in their own =

strong
leader, like Bush, who stands up against the bad guys. The Bad guys =

this case, the terrorists have been attacking United States of =
America
from the late 18th Century. In fact, Tomas Jefferson had to send the
Marines to Tripoli to crush the Arab terrorists who were taking
American hostages. So those of you, who believe that Bush =
manufactured
this rivalry, are again the same type of people pointed too above.
International laws have created a scenario that makes wars =
impossible
to win with low casualties on the victor's side. Therefore, the U.S.
will loose many young men and women because of these laws. In fact,
the U.S. could win this war without anymore casualties if they did =
not
have to follow these laws. After WWII the Geneva Convention placed =
an
agreed ban on indiscriminate bombing. This was the main theme that
that Mongols used to conquer the Middle East. No they didn't have
planes that bomb, they used the same tactics, called indiscriminate
warfare - they literally destroyed all life in a single region ( =
after
giving at least a months notice to surrender) and made an example of
that region for the rest of the regions. After the people heard of =
the
grim details, they had thought better not raise a hand and fight =
back.
That is the grim details of what war is. No guerrilla war that was
significant in numbers in history has ever been won on someone =
else's
turf. This means that the Americans, according to history, cannot =
win
under Geneva Convention rules. They will have to go back to making
examples of regions as was done in WWII and previous wars throughout
history - like the Mongols.
War- is -War. It is a part of life and unfortunately the only way to
solve something when communication breaks down.
When the British dominated the 19th Century they were not this way
because the peoples of the world loved and looked up to them - No it
is because they laid waste to opposing opponents who did not cede
power to them. Now many English people are accusing America of doing
this aggressive imperial power thing when in fact they did it before
America. Why are they complaining? Because of nationalism and not
because of "what is right is right." People feel pride in their own
places they grew up and they cannot change that. They are jealous =
when
others show more power then they have. Instead of banning together
they support the opponents. These are opponents that they surely =
would
not like to live under their rules.
This applies to smaller countries in the E.U. whose posters feel =
that
they live a more moral life and support the other side against
America. Again, they will not talk about their own political figures
doing corruption because they cannot. The only tolerable things =
their
own governments permit is complaining about the United States.
People talk about freedoms being taken away. The Left-wing in my =
city
has taken away so many freedoms that recently I feel my beloved
hometown is a concentration camp. Forget about the Patriot act, =
which
is time limited. These laws are permanent. One used to be able to
sleep out on the beach, smoke and party all night long. Clinton took
away that right by making the western coastline a government =
regulated
(Instead of city regulated) land. Now they have placed curfews, no
smoking, drinking or sleeping at my beloved beaches. The federal
government has put up ugly wall boundaries that block scenic views
from the mainland. Freedoms are being taken away left and right in =
my
state by the leftist in our state agreeing with the leftists
representatives to our federal government. Only time in our history
that a republican stood watch over our state was the great Ronald
Reagan. But, he ruled only for a short time. The left has done much
more damage in our city (and state) that would take days just to
report here. They have ruled for many decades. If they stood for
freedoms then why have they took so many away? Still this is a great
country and I have nothing to hide from the federal government so I =
do
not mind if they look at what I have or do. Basically they already
have. This is a free country according to our constitution and we =
have
free speech. However, with leftist political correctness that is =
being
taken away as well.
The left in my state are soooo anti-war that they would surrender if
an opposing force would have shown up on our shorelines. They talk =
bad
about America as if it is a terrible place and have dinner with
dictators that suppress every freedom of man. Man have rights to =
life,
liberty ( not leftist) and private property. This is not the agenda =
of
the left.
All I hear is how bad Bush is because of this war. Well we do not =
live
in a kingship. We live in Representative Federalist Republic ( A =
type
of democracy) which means that hundreds of people have our =
confidence
and many on the left voted (out of pressure to not look
anti-capitalist) to support money, permission, and opinion about the
War on Iraq. I hear nothing of the sort from you on this issue. Bush
is not a king and he could not have gone to war ( more than 30-60
days) without majority approval in the Senate.
Some of your so-called great democrats ( leftists) have voted for =
the
war, including Kerry, Hillary. I have not heard a peep why they are
not criticized on speaking out against the war now - in which they
have not. What this means is that your bias shows when you exclude
these people from your ant-war rhetoric which has fully focused on =
one
man - a brave man. His name is George Bush.

If that's true, then why is it that the conservatives in control of the =
three branches of government have reduced our Constitutional freedoms =
now? The War on Terrorism, perhaps? And what is that War, sir? Where is =
it going on? Are you blacking out your windows, running from foxhole to =
foxhole here, on your way to
the shopping center or sports game? The War on Drugs hasn't gotten rid =
of illegal drugs. The War on Organized Crime has done little. But, the =
War on Liberals, which you advocate, will do nothing but bitterly divide =
our population, if it's not already suffering from frictions enough.=20
Yeah, war is necessary when all else fails, but Iraq was complying with =
UN inspectors until Bushmeat cut it short and gave his 48 hr. ultimatum =
to Saddam to get out of the country or face ruin. Now, the USA faces a =
quagmire in Iraq, ever deepening, with little international support. You =
don't get much support when you turn your back on the UN Security =
Council and take unilateral action, and tell everyone there's a =
dangerous leader rapidly building his WMD to threaten all...and then no =
WMD is found. Many have unnecessarily died and been injured. They may =
statistics to you, but they're not to me.=20
We could bat this ball back and forth endlessly, and neither you or me =
or anyone on the left or right is going to agree on this issue. You =
certainly have the right to voice your opinions, your anger and =
frustrations with humans. The presence of a strong military you noted in =
past civilizations, or nations, kept them intact and a weakened military =
led to their demise. Ironically, all those you listed were tyrannies, =
with the exception of England (later in the 1800s).=20
If we were to believe you on this issue, then we'd all exist for a long, =
long time as long as we keep building and maintaining a powerful =
military presence. Existing is one thing, enjoying life and liberty is =
another. There's apparently no room in your mind for improvement of the =
human species, but to sink back to a militarized authoritative past =
existence under some form of tyranny. Let's spy on each other. Let's be =
suspicious of anyone who doesn't 'fit in.' =20

lover of military dominance and ideological supremacy over those who are =
weaker in the world. You can play with the idea that the left opposed =
slavery, or even that Hitler was on the Left, but these are labels to =
help make your argument against liberals today. I know of no honest =
liberal who advocates tyranny, unless they are hiding an agenda--which =
is, of course, what some on both sides of the political spectrum have =
done. I know that the majority of liberals today represent no threat to =
human rights, but uphold them, no threats to democracy but to uphold it, =
no threats to conservatives except what boils in their own overcooked =
paranoid minds.=20
The bottom line is that no matter what you think is wrong with the =
world, you will not acheive utopia of any kind and neither will liberals =
unless one side or the other via extremism tries to force it upon the =
other half, resulting in a form of tyranny, oppression with its =
attendant death and destruction, hatred and division. The only other =
alternative is to be conciliatory and accept each others' differences =
without threatening the other.=20
I prefer never to subscribe to your vision. It is a time-worn faulty =
argument you present. I've heard it ever since the 1960s, and we have =
less and less freedom, due to extremism, than we enjoyed then. Color =
your extremism with whatever coating that makes it appear to be =
something else. It's not fooling me nor many others on the Left.
